I'm sure this is the case because last year I paid $25 for a rebuildable one (with some work). Soon I'll be able to buy a new one at Hobby Lobby for under $20 with coupon, or, possibly, if I wait awhile, for under $10 on sale. Ain't it always the way? :angry:

Can't always count on that...

Get another one: the chassis is cool, and there are lots of other bodies that can be used with it.  I've only got a few Model Car Science issues, but one has a neat C-cab street rod built by Don Emmons using this chassis.  The cab he used is from one of the AMT show rods (Li'l Mixer, etc).  I've got a spare chassis and a Revell Mercedes-Benz cabriolet body (the multiple piece one), was thinking about putting the two together...

A question for those who know. The AMT Camaro kit, is this the one with the goofy body proportions ?

Yes...it's the MPC '69 that had a new body tooled up about 15 years ago...not very good.   Nice box art though.

That was fast. At least I still have a couple of the Revell '69 Camaros tucked away.

Sure it's a goofy tie-in. But they created that new tool SnapTite kit and then a few months later the world decided Dukes of Hazzard was no longer acceptable. They have to do SOMETHING with it to amortize the tooling costs since it mostly likely will never be a General Lee again.

Is the '63 Impala kit any good?

Will it have molded in taillights like the Model King version I built several years ago?

I know some have been critical of Round 2 for not coming out with much in the way of all-new 1/25th kits, but I am impressed with the effort they have made in restoring old kits.  A good example of this is the '63 Impala SS.  It was mentioned that the missing firewall is now included as a new part, along with a couple of other parts under the hood.  Hopefully these kits sell in large quantities and enables them to continue doing what they're doing.

Agreed. I will buy a ‘63 just to support the effort. Plus, I kind of like the asymmetrical wild custom treatment.

I would get a Charger too, but not if there’s a lack of clear window option.

I have abig stash and am trying to avoid adding to it.  But it might be fun to build the 63 Chevy radical custom.  I might top it off with some Coca Cola decals. (Just kidding about the decals).

I agree.
And we have to understand that the endless whiners are always the same few people and they are in the minority. They are just really vocal so it seems like they are the majority.

Most folks are happy to see kits back and enjoy them without sweating all the little stuff.

I'm actually interested in the '63 Impala, '67 GTO Weekend Warrior, the Surf Wagon and the '69 Yenko Camaro(as long as the body's not wonky like a couple of earlier posts have suggested). Possibly even the Charger, but the Snap-Tite part of it worries me as far as it being kind of a cheaply done kit. Hopefully Chris(hpiguy) can get his hands on all of these and give us his detailed rundown of what's in the kits and how they build up. Always look forward to the next one on your channel.

I do not mind the re-pops, as I was not always in a position to pick them up in previous renditions over the years. Also, as my tastes have broadened, I can appreciate more what some of them offer, especially in the retooling of missing parts, or parts that needed upgrading, like tampo tires, better decals, restored parts etc.

And, it sure looks like a convertible boot on the parts tree for the '69 Camaro.

AMT had a '69 Camaro Convertible they issued many years ago. That one as I recall had a well formed body unlike the later issued coupe. Begs the question is this a comingling of parts trees or maybe even body improvements ? On the plus side this Convertible Boot could make it much easier to convert the Revell '67 Camaro kit into a convertible.
