Fairfax Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Hello, everyone. Because of this model, I started building American cars because a few years ago I had a metal model in the 1 / 18 Mercury Marauder of 1964 and again I wanted to buy it, but I came across this Electra 225 in search. With its shapes, it reminds me a lot of Marauder. So I started buying AMT. The kit is worse with the quality of the moulds, shakes everywhere, probably old forms. But again a big plus, both the body and the chassis were not twisted at all. I like the unique body, interior, bumper and chassis assembly system. It was all for each other and screwed in four screws. Perfect system for me. The rearview mirrors weren't, so I refilled the side from the junkyard. I still have a second Electra 225 unbuilt, so I'm looking forward to it again.
Bucky Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Looks great, sir!! The continental kit sets it off!
BeakDoc Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Beautiful. Great color combination. Never been a big fan of the continental set up but it looks at home on that big ole Buick.
Fairfax Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 Thank you so much Keith and Chris.
SfanGoch Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Really nice! This photo looks like it came from a sales brochure.
randyc Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Very nice! I find these kits to look great when finished. Would love to have that one in my collection.
Peter Lombardo Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Very nice.... that very old kit is holding up very well. Nice.
Wm David Green Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Great looking Buick. Nice color scheme.
bbowser Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 That's gorgeous! Did you do anything special with the headlights, they look better than the chrome?
RAMBENNA Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 sweet build, great colors. looks awesome good work
TarheelRick Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 You have done an excellent job on this build. Very clean and a good color choice. I have one in my stash and this build may make me move it up the line. These older AMT repops are fun to build. They are quite simple with the everything molded chassis and tub interiors. In their simplicity they give you an opportunity to experiment with some different building techniques.
TooOld Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Beautiful ! Great work on an older model , it looks better than new !
Vietnam Vet67 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 The old "Deuce and a quarter" as she was known here in Motown! When men were men and women were women and bumpers were covered in chrome! It doesn't get any better than that ! Great build!!!
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Very nice! Looks real in some of those pics.
