randyc Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 I am always behind on building the new kits. I wait til the prices come down and reviews are in - or I just haven't gotten to it. yet. So here's my 300. In one photo you can see where I had to FILE (lol) and then polish the bubbles out of my lacquer. Yes I'm too lazy/impatient to purple pond it. can't see it on the shelf and I'm ok with it. Nice kit mostly. A bit heavy-handed in some places compared to the delicacy of the AMT 57 (which I can't find my built of). Then decals do not match the molding. Next model I'll use the foil under paint technique I think. Should have here. I'm pleased with it and there is a bonus photo or two of the Moebius with a $10 Motormax diecast 55 with the Moebius wheel covers. This kit may have the BEST taillight assembly ever committed to plastic. The whole kit looks pretty fabulous when complete. As Larry Greenburg used to say, "highly recommended"
espo Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Beautiful looking 300. I wouldn't have thrown away that paint job either. The engine compartment looks very nice also.
Geno Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Randy, that turned out great. Looks like I'll have to add one to the collection. How close to scale is it compared to the '55? Thanks for sharing it with us.?
randyc Posted October 4, 2019 Author Posted October 4, 2019 See if this helps. To me, they look very close side by side.
Jim N Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Great job! I'd be very pleased if this was one of my builds.
drodg Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Beautiful build Randy. Those are kits that my grandsons will be trying to find on Ebay when they are adults.

ewetwo Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 WOw. That looks fantastic. The two together makes an awesome display there.
GeeBee Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 (edited) Very nice, I might well have to find myself one of these.... Edited October 4, 2019 by GeeBee
'70 Grande Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Beautiful build(s)! It's interesting to compare the '55 and '56 side-by-side. IMO; although the '55's design was way-ahead of the mid-1950's products coming out of Chevrolet or Ford, the designers at Chrysler really moved the looks of the '56 even farther ahead with the design refinements they brought to the '56... 1st-class design all the way!
BigTallDad Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Very nicely done! Your panel lines (door edges, and especially the gas flap) look stellar! All too often there is a stark difference between the panel line and the surrounding paint...how did you do yours?
beeRS Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 This has certainly built up into a stunning model.

And moebius molded them pretty deep and wide to start with. Thanks for the compliments Edited October 5, 2019 by randyc
gtx6970 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Nice, I built the 55 to give a good friend as a replica of the black 1/1 car he owns. I have both the 55 and 56 to build for myself one day. I'll probably do another black 55 and maybe a white 56 ...they are a ways down the list so I have time to change my mind I guess LOL I may look into one of the diecast cars for the shelf for the time being. Its looks pretty good as well
bbowser Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 What a beauty! Wouldn't have noticed any flaws if you hadn't pointed them out
