peekay Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Beautifully built, perfect finishes and very realistic.

Thank you very much for sharing some of your story with a Civic, and il be sure to save some of your pics and add them to my build folder. Glad I sparked your interest and hope it will get you going with your build, which I look forward to seeing. Hope you will do a wip thread, So we can follow along while you build. I have another kit which my plan is to tune it up as I might or could have done and im sure I could get some ideas from you. Very good, that's the point of this forum! I don't have a WIP of my '87 Civic, joined the forum after that was done. I was hoping to do a similar engine swap (more like add), but noticed this kit is 1/24, and the Revell is 1/25, so it wouldn't exactly be accurate, but more doable than the other way around, which I found out the hard way on this Corvette. There is also a Facebook group dedicated to the first generation Civics. 9 hours ago, Tom Geiger said: Don't forget the wiper position! Reversed for LHD. Dash doesn't look all that awful to modify. That's right! I did that for a recent project. I know there is a topic on this forum for L-R HD dashboard conversions, if I ever get around to this, will consider making copies.
captjeffro26 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 This brings back memories. I learned to drive stick in one of these. Amazing job on the build!
Ben Brown Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 Beautiful build! It brings back a lot of memories. A high school friend had a yellow one. It had two throttle settings when he drove it: Max and Idle, so the car pretty much lived at the redline. Fortunately, it was so slow, the police never noticed. My parents went out of town for a weekend, and instead of throwing a huge party like normal teens, we rebuilt the engine in the garage. I think my parents would have been far less shocked if they'd come home to the aftermath of a party instead of a partially disassembled Honda. Ben
PappyD340 Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Extremely nice build, excellent color choice, well done!!
Cpt Tuttle Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Top notch build. Is this kit some new release? Haven't seen it before. Need to get my hands on one, I think.

Brianl Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I didn't know I could get this kit! Mine was metallic blue. I'll look up my photos and see if I can nail the mirrors for you. All early Civics were direct imports from Japan. Mine came through Bennet Honda in Brisbane. They were bullet proof and very quick. Many people thought they were a follow on to the Cooper S. One won the Queensland Rally Championship (Adrian Taylor?) and from memory was pretty stock. Great model mate and thanks for the memories. Brian
Cool Hand Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) Thanks again for the replies and sharing all the memories you guys have. Cheers for the info Brian. 18 hours ago, Cpt Tuttle said: Is this kit some new release? Haven't seen it before. Need to get my hands on one, I think. 1st Released November 2017, there are 3 different versions SB-1 and SC-1. Also there is a race car version (Team Yamato) which is on my wish list Edited December 23, 2019 by Cool Hand
Sandboarder Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Damm!!! Amazing build of the highest quality and the comments your getting reflects this. Top job and it’s looks like you’ve stirred up memories in a lot of other forum members. To share your memories with each other because of a plastic model kit is just awesome ?
kelson Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 A real beauty!,i love the foreign manufacturers for doing these mainstream kits!!.

And if the console is reversed, I don’t think anyone would notice ( or handle it with a photo reduced photo)
VanSpence Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 I grabbed one of the race versions of this civic and can't wait to start it. The awesome thing about the race one is that is comes with all the stock parts as well as the race parts except for the wheels and the seats. It even includes both full suspensions so you can choose a lowered stance or a stock height. I plan on building a street version using a combo of the race and the stock parts. This build is amazing and super inspiring. Can't wait to get started.
Cool Hand Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 Thanks again for the replies. Appreciate the info Spence. My favourite pic I have of the build.
Nells250 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 From here, looks like a super-clean build! :-)
