mchook Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 It has a scratch built chassis, chopped top & Mopar power. I can't seem to do anything other than rusty & rotten. 1
styromaniac Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Think I saw this on The H.A.M.B. site. Nicely weathered!
TooOld Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Great weathering job ! I prefer new and shiny but I'd drive this one !
tim boyd Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Mark....very , very sharp and creative. Great that you used something other than an SBC in the engine compartment, and the rust/patina effect is very convincing. Cool! TIM
Spottedlaurel Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 It looks very mean, nice work! I wish I could do that, it'd make more sense on some of the kits I have.
alan barton Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 I too prefer shiny to rusty but the proportions on this coupe are fantastic and I am in awe of your rust effects - you have achieved a rust colour that I have been unsuccessful at replicating. Did you use real rust or a custom paint mix? Cheers Alan
Plowboy Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Very cool looking little hot rod Mark! You really have an eye for weathering! I wish I could weather one half as well as you can. Someday, you and I need to trade paint jobs.

mchook Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 Thanks everyone for all the great comments. 21 hours ago, Plowboy said: Someday, you and I need to trade paint jobs. That actually sounds like something that we could do. I could send you a rotten body & you send me a clean paint job, build them & post them here.
Pete L. Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Great, that's got to be the best rust simulation I've ever seen !!!
Slotto Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 That's just cool! It looks like a real rusty metal body
1930fordpickup Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Looks great. Smooth and shiny has it's place just as a little rough around the edges.
