damodelguy az Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 57 chrysler kit, cut roof and deck lid to make a comino hauler. never liked the headlights on this car so i changed them to 58 chevy headlights. inner bed could maybe be from a mid 60s comino kit but mine was a bit nasty so might try making my own.
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Cool. Reminds me of the days when Budd Anderson did conversions like this (I think it was car modeler magazine).
doorsovdoon Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Interesting build. If it's any good to you, I have a pick up tub from the '70 Pontiac custom? It's no good to me.
Steve H Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Cool build. What colour are you thinking? I did a lowered 300 in a metallic burnt orange and thought it looked good. Keep it low! Love the Camino conversion.

bisc63 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Liking what you're doing a lot! The Chevy headlights are a nice, subtle touch; can't wait to see more!
espo Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I agree with all the others, always thought this would be a good body to make a hauler out of. Very long back deck looks almost like an 8 foot long bed. Maybe make it a 6 foot short bed ?
Dirty Gringo Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Love this great work on this conversion. I might have to do this idea at some point.
Superbird McMonte Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Awesome! Another one of those “why didn’t they think of that?” cars.
damodelguy az Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 finished the bed, sanding. colored french blue, just didnt feel it so colored it star spangled blue and gunmetal metallic.
loggie27 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Another one I feel compelled to respond to, very cool.
