crazyjim Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 My '66 Ghia is built straight out of the box and I used Tru-Color teal blue paint on it.
doorsovdoon Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Very nice. Don't see these here in the UK very often, but I think it's the most beautiful car VW ever made.
Jim B Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Nicely done. I wanted one of these cars when I was in high school. Never got one, though.
crazyjim Posted August 11, 2020 Author Posted August 11, 2020 Thank you Gareth and James. I used to work with a lady that drove one. I mentioned to her recently that I was building this one. She liked the idea so I'm going to send it to her.
Monty Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Nice clean build and great color - looks like a shade VW might have offered at the time. I'd like to know (good or bad) how working with Tru Color paint was. This might be the first time I've seen it used.
Rich Chernosky Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Very nice job on and the Ghia....is this the Gunze/Sangyo kit.
shoopdog Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Great looking build, I also would love to have one of these in any scale.
crazyjim Posted August 11, 2020 Author Posted August 11, 2020 Thnak you Monty, Leslie, Rich, Peter, and Keith. I've been using Tru-color paint for a couple of years now and love it. Goes on smooth and dries pretty quick. I use Arizona Hobby as a source because he's less expensive than Tru-Color itself. I can easily paint 2 cars with 1 bottle. It's the Tamiya kit.
espo Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Great looking Ghia. Very clean chrome trim and the color is perfect of course.
crazyjim Posted August 12, 2020 Author Posted August 12, 2020 Thank you Daivid , Craig, Bruce, Carl, Steve, and Lou. I've always liked the Karmann-Ghia. This was my chance to own one.
BlackSheep214 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Funny though. I just watched a recent episode of Iron Resurrection the other night that featured the Karmann-Ghia. I love the work they done to it. Here's the car:
