I probably have a couple hundred I suppose.

I don't have a huge stash because I don't buy multiple kits and I don't buy stuff that I think is kinda, sorta cool.

I buy models that I have a good possibility of building at some point.

I don't need a lot of extra junk that my family is going to have to get rid of eventually. ;)

These are my to build stash. The fishing tackle boxes are full of aftermarket wheels and the white boxes are my resin stash. I have all my vw/porsche/vag kits seperated from the rest. As well as these I have a couple of cases of italeri ford escort and transit to put on ebay in a couple of years. These pics are from the start of the year and I've added a load more kits to the build stash since with more on the way. The cupboard with the spitfire sticker holds my spray cans and airbrush + compressor and the drawers are full of glues, wire and brush paints.

Hey Ken,

Just about the time you joined this forum there was an active discussion about stashes.  You missed it!  Here it is:

I am curious of what brand this is and the scale.  Is it a snap lit similar to the Lindberg ones or is it made in Japan?

It's 1:24 scale, basically a slot car body with a basic chassis. Midori (of Japan) produced slot cars in the mid 60's and like AMT, Cox, K&B (Aurora) and a few other companies offered some of their slot bodies as curbside static kits.

Photo from Los Angels Slot Car Museum - interesting selection from Midori.

Actually that Daytona is not 1/24 scale. It is/was made in Japan but it is more like 1/43 scale. Scale is not mentioned on the box . It is a crappy little kit that has about 15 pieces.

Nothing like recycling box art, same art is used on their 1/32 slot cars too. I've got a number of their slot cars and they're definitely not on higher end. That's really unique if nothing else, I've never seen 1/43 offerings from them.

This topic caught my eye. I was recently (like a yr and half ago)  asked to take pics of my stash so here they are.  Believe it or not some of these (not many) have been built since these pictures were taken. Many of them are painted though. This is an accumulation of over 50+ years.

DSC06787.JPG.751489d876a6cfb3024bc95f4aa55918.JPGThe Tamiya street and racer car section

DSC06788.JPG.567e7e8ffef9bcd11ee33fb6a011d46f.JPG1/20 Formula 1's, sorry about the fuzzy pic. many of these are started. DSC06789.JPG.71c7317849234217156c32c12f9f0d80.JPG1/24 Formula 1 kits...yah ...I like F-1

DSC06790.JPG.082bebd68785309dc7600cd124cbf9a8.JPG1/12 Formula 1, mostly Protar Ferrari's...they are touogh to build so I don't so em often.

More large scale kits...the Mercedes 300SL was recently featured, working on the 1/16 Corvette now.

More 1/12 kits, I have over 50 to do, plus some oddballs that don't fit anywhere else.

DSC06794.JPG.3298fd0df59e5fa8c23286b9010a43bd.JPGAaahh the Fujimi collection and other Japanese large scale kits. Most of this stuff is started and or painted.

DSC06795.JPG.5ca962bcea81b37988334485cd6b27be.JPGMy resin collection, I have since added many to this section so I gotta get busy. Some trans-kits here too. DSC06796.JPG.2856814d046f23ae7792d95ea274f66d.JPGMy domestic kit section, I grab one of these when i want a real challenge or something to paint. Most have been painted  so i am kinda running out.  There are two display cases that hinge away from this storage section.  You can just see the backs on the left side.

You're welcome Gary. This was a lot of fun. When Scott comes to visit we spend a lot of time going through all these kits. Its just another way we modelers connect.
