kelson Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I built the same kit years ago,but the chassis showing in the rear bugged me,good to see what you did to fix it.i'll do the same to mine.
e30lover Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Beautifully done restoration! I love how the pre-restoration model also kinda looks like a typical barn find cars!
Scott8950 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Yeah one would never think that is the same car. Very nicely done!
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Great looking resto, and I love the color!
TooOld Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Really great job restoring a really sad and rare old model . It definitely deserves a place on any shelf !
David G. Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Beautifully Done! The corrected wheel arches make a world of difference. David G.
Husky1943 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Beautiful job, Mike! I had a '65 squareback that was that very color that you made. I learned how to drive in that car (that was only two years younger than me). Your replica is perfect!
Tommy124 Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Great save Mike, your Galaxie looks top-notch! I was happy to score the "AMT-Frog" release of this kit (unbuilt and complete) on Ebay - at only around twice the price of a regular Revell kit. AFAIK this kit was a re-release of the original AMT kit for the European, mainly British, market somewhere in the first half of the 70's. It seems to be widely unknown, as before adding it to my stash on Scalemates.com, first I had to enter the kit to the database...
ATHU Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Simply stunning, a perfectly executed restoration!!
thatz4u Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Very well done, love the color it's just right for the car
Ragtop Man Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Nailed it. For anyone considering a similar project with an AMT '67-'68, the CURRENT release of the '69 XL has a surfeit of '67 -'68 bits in the box, enough to make this Phord Phreek "phlip" phor joy - I'd need to look at the shadow parts breakdown again, but many chassis bits, exhaust and engine are included.
ea0863 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Total beauty, although I even liked the junkyard look before the rebuild!
VanGoGo Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Looks great...I enjoy the restorations, shows how much you've improved over the years 😃
Geno Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Damn, that went from Cinderella's ugly stepsister to Cinderella. 💯😎
