2doors3pedals Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Just finished the Paul Hettick resin '63 County Squire. It's factory combo Colonial white over Chestnut. Besides the body Paul mastered new taillights, hub caps and rear bumper. This is a high quality, accurate conversion kit that goes together flawlessly. Great job Paul and thanks for your help.
Geno Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Wow, wow, wow that's a beaut. Fantastic build.
Bills72sj Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I love it! I used to own a 1:1 white 71 Ford Country Squire wagon when I was a teenager. It had no brakes and could do a hellova one wheel peel.
Spottedlaurel Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 That's a lovely thing, nice work there.
TooOld Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Beautiful job ! Really nice to see one of these built .
Classicgas Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Beautiful! No I gotta wipe drool off the keyboard.
bh1701 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Great looking build! I am especially impressed with the wood on the side. How was that done? Thanks, Bart
espo Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Beautiful looking wagon. Great paint work especially the wood trim.

Thanks, Bart Thanks for the kind words! The darker wood grain is a vinyl sticker that comes with the kit. The emblems and scripts are printed on the vinyl. The lighter wood (fiberglass) is molded with the body and includes all the little carriage bolt heads. I hand painted it with Model Master acrylic sand followed by 2 or 3 coats of clear lightly tinted with transparent amber. If you look really close you might see that I drew darker grain patterns on the sand color with a sharp water color pencil. A Molotow pen was used for the bolt heads.
doorsovdoon Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 What a beautiful build, not much else to say but, wow! Definitely my kind of flavour when it comes to factory stock cars. You done a cracking job on this, very very nice.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Yup, the light-colored woodgrain is out-of-the-park gorgeous. Nice job, sir. Nice indeed.
2doors3pedals Posted December 27, 2020 Author Posted December 27, 2020 Well thanks guys, as a newcomer I feel very welcomed.
minkos Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Superb work. I bought one of these too and hope mine turns out as nicely.
charlie8575 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Good tip on the wood-grain. What did you use for the chestnut interior? I have one, too, and plan to do mine in Oxford Blue, and yes, the kit itself is outstandingly good. Charlie Larkin
