Tommy124 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 (edited) Hi folks, another restoration done. This time, a complete one. BEFORE: AFTER: Edited February 9, 2021 by Tommy124
doorsovdoon Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Very nice colours. Interior looks tidy, very clean, and the detail on the dash is superb! I like this.
misterNNL Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Great idea for staging the photos also. Looking sharp.
NOBLNG Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Super nice job on this one. When I first scrolled through the pics without reading the text, I thought the blue car was real for the first few. Well done and excellent photos!?
Kromolly Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Very nice job on that one. It looks fantastic.
e30lover Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Impressive build! That dashboard looks like a lot of masking work, or great brushwork!
ChrisBcritter Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Great makeover, and the backdrops seal the deal!
Tommy124 Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 Thanks guys, I appreciate it. On 2/10/2021 at 4:22 PM, e30lover said: Impressive build! That dashboard looks like a lot of masking work, or great brushwork! Don't know if it's great, but it's been brushwork. What helped in achieving this result is the crisp details on the kit's dashboard - and the use of Tamiya acrylic colors, which are great for painting such details (just have to dilute them to the right degree).
BeakDoc Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Gorgeous! I’ve been sitting on a bottle of the exact same color (ScaleFinishes) for 6 months earmarked specifically for the JoHan ‘63 Starfire hardtop in my stash. I guess great minds think alike. Fantastic resto job!
Grumpa Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Fanastic restoration Thomas! Looks like it just rolled out of the showroom!
