Modlbldr Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) This is a resin body that I got in a trade recently. The paint is Tamiya Gunmetal with Tamiya TS 20 Metallic Green then topped with Tamiya X 25 Clear Green. The chrome has three light coats of Tamiya Smoke sprayed over it. Thinking of something like an LS7 for power. Later- Edited April 21, 2021 by Modlbldr
Modlbldr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Here's the idea for the direction. Later-
OldNYJim Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Aww yeah, this is gonna be a cool build! I love the wheels, and the effect that the Tamiya smoke gives over the bumpers is really cool - storing that tip away for the future!
Scott8950 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 It looks awesome Tom. Now your making me regret trading it ?

I'll definitely be using it again. 7 minutes ago, Scott8950 said: It looks awesome Tom. Now your making me regret trading it ? Thanks Scott! I'm glad to have it. Later-
Sam I Am Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 That is one gorgeous color. Looks like it has been plated and not painted.
ksnow Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 That green is awesome. You'll need at least an LS7 to smoke those big rears. I'll definitely be following this build.
Steve H Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Really like where this is going Tom. That green is sweet. I did a curb side ‘66 in Bahama blue with the tinted chrome and think it looks great. I’ll be following. Cheers, Steve
slusher Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Beautiful paint and the chrome looks perfect with the smoke sprayed on it. Great start!
Spottedlaurel Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Great start Tom, look forward to seeing it progress. You've given us odd glimpses of it here and there, good to in its own WIP thread.
Modlbldr Posted April 22, 2021 Author Posted April 22, 2021 Thanks Fellas. I wasn't sure at first on the color because it looked like too much but I think with the chrome it has grown on me. Later-
TransAmMike Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Verrrry cool. Always thought I would like to own a real one just like it with the L79 motor. Looking great Tom.
Zippi Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 The green looks pretty kewl Tom and the stance is killer. Still trying to get the paint worked out on my 66.
Modlbldr Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Thanks for all of the kind responses guys! This one has gotten held up.trying to find an engine for it. I am also debating with myself on ideas for customizing the interior. I think I have the interior planned out now. As soon as I find the kit I'm looking for to rob an engine out of I'll be moving forward. Later-
Modlbldr Posted August 8, 2021 Author Posted August 8, 2021 Got a couple of 3D printed 572's (stock and blown) in today. I think I may be back on track with this one. Going to try to scratchbuild a twin turbo system along with the 572. Later-
Mattilacken Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 That’s gonna be a nice setup that suits it well!
David G. Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Looks like a great project. Excellent shade of green, it reminds me of the green on a Japanese Beetle. I always thought it was a beautiful color. David G.

It does look a bit like that color. Proof that there is "nothing new under the sun". Later-
