.....should retire their line of model kits. Never was a big fan of his show. They should replace it with Iron Resurrection creations instead. Just finished watching an episode of this week’s show where they did a 1936 Hudson Terraplane truck. Gorgeous !

It's a matter of personal opinion and taste.  I'm not familiar with the shop you mentioned, but I'd let Foose rework my car over most of the other "flames and skulls" guys out there.

Too, some of the Foose kits are getting hard to find.  I wanted a '68 Firebird a while back, couldn't find one to save my life.

I built the 56 pickup and it was a really nice kit.  I watched that episode.  That Hudson pickup was really nice.  To bad the ole fellow that was having it built never got to see it.

Iron Resurrection doesn't do flames and skulls on every single build. Watch it sometimes. You will admit They are better than any of Chip Foose builds and way more talented than him.

Yeah, that copper color on the '36 Hudson is sweet. I love it how it looks in the sun. Sad to hear their client, Dean it was being restored for passed away.

First off its subjective and a matter of personal opinion.  Second its name recognition that creates the licensing.  More kids and adults are going to know who Chip Foose thats why we've seen licensing with Barris, Boyd Coddington, and Stacey David. Who's better really doesn't decide the licensing choices.

The thing to remember about the Foose Kits is that except for the '56 Ford f100 they are little more than a straight reissue with some different wheels and decals. Hard to find fault with that. The '56 F100 is a unique kit in that it's a scale copy of his personal truck that has received some extensive body modifications for those who may not realize the background story of that pick up. As for the Iron Resurrection show I think they do some of the best metal fabrications you'll see on TV at this time. We get to try and due the same only with plastic.

Funniest thing I've read today ! HAHAHAHA !  How about some billet flames , monochromatic paint (maybe a a spank of 'Lipstick' stripes ) , and f'ugly wheels while we're at it .

Exactly! That's what sets the bar so high from the others, including Chip Foose. You get to see the amazing metal fabrications they do. Martin Brothers even bought new equipment like the metal laser cutting machine. You get to see the everything including the break down of the car, new engine installed, bodywork, priming and painting involved. Name one auto reality show that shows what Martin Brothers do. I can't think of one at all that impressed me.

It's too bad Revell changed owners, maybe they'd have done something along the lines of the Foose kits with other designer/builders like Martin Brothers or Kindigit.  A couple of all-new tools like the Ford pickup and Cadillac, then some wheels and other parts to add to existing kits.

Now you're talking.

These are more up my alley though,,

1953 Buick “Breathless” built by Rick Dore - ThrottleXtreme

I'd rather have an accurate stock kit, then *I* can customise it, if I want to.   Can't stand most of these shows, especially that Kindig idiot - obtain project car, throw away the chassis and engine, buy in generic chassis and LS motor, then complain nothing fits....

I couldn't agree more! I think Rick Dore is the best builder of hand-built, full-kustoms out there. Any of his cars would make a great model kit. Now that you got me thinking about it, I may have to put a Rick Dore style build on my list of future models to do. His sweeping enclosed pontoon-style fenders would be interesting to try and duplicate.

Hey, Grant man.... If that's what you're into, you'll really enjoy looking at this build by our own Impalow...

He's gotten as close to a Dore build as I've ever seen!

I would too. I love that show, he's got a bunch of very talented craftsmen. I'm amazed at the metal work and attention to detail.

I'm not impressed with his show or work either.  Counting Cars with The Count is ok but not the greatest. Tolerable to watch. Rawlings' show I forget the name of his show... I cannot stand him at all.

OMG, that model is fantastic. Thanks for pointing it out. I can't compete with that though!

I just happened to see the Hudson pickup episode the other night.  The color was really nice, but I'd prefer a stock pickup.

Also I've heard really great things about the Foose F100 and Cadillac kits.  They've got some good kitbashing potential.

Now this is something to think about when Round 2 reissues "The Californian" kit.

Thanks you guys!   Funny story, I actually got to meet Mr. Dore and share photos of this build with him a few years back at SEMA. We had a 5 min conversation about the different techniques and ideas used, he really seemed to key into the idea of elongating the stock body using the custom luggage/trunk.  Really nice guy.

I've got a name for it, sort of rhymes with "Gas Monkey"...
