Plowboy Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) Welp, after fifty plus years of neglect and four plus months of the restoration process, this old '69 Impala finally gets to see the light of day again! It's a kitbash of an original promo with a busted windshield frame, Monogram '65 Impala and an AMT '67 Impala. The windshield frame, windshield, rear view mirror, visors, door handles and top are from a Monogram '65 Impala. The chassis, floorpan, drivetrain and underhood detail are from the 67. Paint is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon and Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red. Thanx for checking it out! Here's a couple of photos of what I started with. Edited September 27, 2021 by Plowboy 4
espo Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Beautifully done build. I enjoyed watching your build and your attention to the details along with the paint really make this an outstanding save.
FLHCAHZ Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Really came out great. Overall excellent!
Venom Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 As soon as I saw it I said “wow” out loud. This is a really striking looking build! At first I thought it was black and then a couple pics later realized it was red... Very nice work on such a beautiful looking car! The engine details are well done too.
Classicgas Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 That is stellar. Just unbelievable. Easily pass as a real car.
Zippi Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Good looking Chevy. Nice and tightly on the business end.
Can-Con Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Turned out great but I always know I'm gonna be seeing an excellent model when I open your posts Roger.

smellyfatdude Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Every so often, I see a build on this forum that if it were photographed in just the right setting, would pass for the real thing in most people’s eyes. This is definitely one of those. Great detail, and that’s a gorgeous color combo. ?
Hi-Po Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 I agree with everyone else - that is one great looking build. Great paint and detailing.
Bob Ellis Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Great job on this model. I attempted to do the same job to an AMT 1970 Impala kit. Didn't get you results. Send Revell a foto of your 1969 SS427 and tell them this is a muscle car they can do.
