Dominik Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 1969 Dodge Charger DaytonaRevell , 1/25 , KitNr.85-4910 This Charger (and a couple more models) i bought from a collegue. he past away and i wanted some of his builts as memories to him.as it was delivered, parts were fallen apart and the rear window fell out as well. i had no chance, to disassemble, was glued very strong. so i decided, to weather it. some flat tires and thats it. I made this on the day i weathered my Edsel. So the missing rear window in minor matter now. While i write this sentences i think about to cover the rear window with foil and tape ?...and it rests on a diorama of mine.
happy grumpy Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 That's a great way to remember your collegue . It is a perfect barn find diorama. The weathering is great. It's a beautiful diorama.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Nice weathering. It looks very realistic, especially in the dio. Your friend would be proud!
crazyjim Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Looks like it's been for many years. Terrific dio too!
Zippi Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 That Daytona looks like its fell on some hard times. Really like the diorama. Great job.
Mattilacken Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Really good work! How do you do that? Is it made with Tamiya weathering kits or some other method?
mchook Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Great weathering and I love the diorama too.
NOBLNG Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Great job on the weathering!? The diorama looks really cool too.
Dominik Posted November 21, 2021 Author Posted November 21, 2021 Thank you very much for your nice comments - much appreciate it. It has a special place in my collection. i bought a couple from his builts and restored them really careful (removed flaws) On 11/20/2021 at 8:57 AM, Mattilacken said: Really good work! Dear Anton, for the weathering i used - my airbrush with white from valeo as basic on the "sunburnt" spots - next layer are colors from Schmincke Aero, i use pigment colors, they are more transparent. light and dark brown. - some rust traces i used the airbrush too or/and a pencil with the same color. - after that i use products from AK and Terpentine to have the traces of water that washes off the dirt (on the wing f.e or behind the rear wheels on the fender) . I used wintergrime, rust streaks, streaking grime, slime grime dark. 1
doorsovdoon Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 ooh yes, now that's nice! Very impressive weathering. Lovely build.
