Smoke Wagon Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 This old girl started off as part of AMT’s Chopped T combo kit. Paint is Tamiya TS-9 green over Rustoleum black fenders. Modifications include: plug wires, wooden bed rails, a side mounted spare, the blank area between the bed and cab filled, fender-mounted rear license plate, and the wheelbase lengthened to center the rear wheels in their respective wheel wells, and finally, some Oregon plates. Enjoy the photos. 3
NOBLNG Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) Wow, that looks fantastic! And great photos. The first two make it look authentic!? Edited November 30, 2021 by NOBLNG
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Looking really good! Nice job on the build, and the cool back drop photography on the 'street"
espo Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I can't remember every seeing one of these built in a stock configuration let alone to this degree of finish. I like the retro pictures, this sets one's mind to a different time when looking at this build. So many fine details that some might not remember that were part of this vehicle in its day.
happy grumpy Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 You just made my day, A period correct little century old pick up truck. The first 2 photos are astounding.
Zippi Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Holy smokes Riley....youv'e got an eye for the real deal. This just looks so good. All the colors look so 1:1 and the color on the seat is perfect. That first pic looks so great. Job well done sir.
Phildaupho Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Excellent Model-T model and great photos
Smoke Wagon Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Thank you very much guys. Your kind words mean a lot to a novice like myself. As for the first two photos, the backdrop was a picture of a street in my hometown, dated in the late 20’s I’d assume.
carrucha Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Cool build. Nice to see a factory stock build of this kit. Nice photography.
Lunajammer Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 The wheels make all the difference. Most of the ones we see are just painted mostly black, which is also correct, but I rarely see modelers go to the time consuming step of the three-color wheels.
Smoke Wagon Posted December 14, 2021 Author Posted December 14, 2021 1 hour ago, Lunajammer said: I rarely see modelers go to the time consuming step of the three-color wheels. I started the wheels by spraying them with rustoleum satin brown, then I dry brushed the spokes, brush painted rims and hubs with flat black craft paint, sprayed the wheels with rustoleum semi-gloss clear, then used a silver sharpie on the rims. Kind of an involved process but they do fancy the truck up a bit. 1

James2 Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Lovely rendition, nicely detailed and perfectly painted. Well Done!
Eric Macleod Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 This is fantastic. I have a friend who just finished up a New Zealand export version of the Model T (a real one) and your model looks almost exactly like it. I am a multiple Model T owner in 1:1 scale and I have built the only complete set of all six of the Improved Fords in 1:25 scale. You, my friend NAILED IT!
