Gustavo Reis Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 I'm trying to modify the 59 Chevy Impala for the Mad Max movie version. Filling the side gaps. Modified roof. Primer applied. Color applied. Masking. 6
Bullybeef Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 Well you are off to a great start, the four door conversion is on point and your paint and flames are perfect!
ea0863 Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 It already looks awesome. Can't wait to see it completed!
ozmodeler Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 looking really good Gustavo, don't forget the fur headling !
Dave Van Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 You are doing a much better job than I did!!!! I left it as a 2 door and LHD. Nice work!!
stavanzer Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Only image I can find of another '59 Chevy Hot Rod in Oz. From the Movie "Over the Hill". Not sure if the Mad Max Chevy and the OTH Chevy are the same car, but there cannot be that many RH Drive '59 Chevies down there.
espo Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Great looking job on the roof line making the four-door body style.

That car didn't end well.
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Great start of a cool project! I often thought about building that particular car because I love the movie and I have a soft spot for hot 4-doors. Never started it because my flame painting skills are... well, let's say insufficient... Yours look great! I will follow this build!

Gustavo Reis Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 A little update. Clear coat and Bare Metal applied. 1
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Love it!!! But wasn’t the Mad Max car a 2 door sedan? been some time since I’ve seen the movie, but I was thinking that it was a 2 door. Steve
Dave Van Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I wish it was a 2 door......it was a 4 door. I built mine as a 2 door to keep alterations to a minimum.

Steve I thought so, too, but I just researched it and found out it was indeed a 4 door sedan.
David G. Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Nice conversion to four door. Flame work looks great! David G.
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Looks WAY better than the movie car ever did!!! Steve
espo Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Remember following the original build on this. Glad to see it is done and the finished model looks great.
