Gramps46 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Footnote: These are a mix of 1/25-1/24 plastic, scrachtbuilds, and diecast. In the '30s, i.e. the Stutz, cars were driven to Le Mans but needed support vehicles. 8
Roger U Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Great collection of race cars and tow vehicles. All good looking models.
Bainford Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Love, love, love the old school haulers with race cars. Very cool! Is that white Ford panel the old Monogram '55? Looks great stock.
Rich Chernosky Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Gary...what a great post and cool collection of models. Thank
happy grumpy Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Beautiful builds on a trip to memory lane. The golden age of racing. Gorgeous collection. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre Rivard Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Wow Gary, what a fabulous collection! All models I wish I can someday build, with the Porsche at the top of the list! Again and again you provide inspiration for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing this collection
1959scudetto Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Wonderful collection of racers on trailers, Gary. I like them all, but am most impressed by the Cobra transporter with the GT40's, the King Cobra behind the Ford P/U and the Filipinetti 904 with the VW van.
Gramps46 Posted November 11, 2022 Author Posted November 11, 2022 Thanks to all for your kind comments. It was a fun trip down memory lane for me. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Great stuff, love every one. And what's the story on the XP87?

The XP87, or Bill Mitchell's 1959 Sting Ray racer was a solid resin casting done for Bill Landis and Dave Sposaro and was based upon a Scuderia Scale vacuum formed slot car body. I had to do some reshaping of the fenders and other details. 1

alan barton Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Still my beating heart! What a wonderful collection of race teams. I loved putting race cars on trailers on the back of tow vehicles since my primary school Matchbox toy days. These are absolutely wonderful! If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the XP87 with the Elky but I could stare at all of them for hours! Cheers Alan
Zippi Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Very kewl looking builds. No favorite as I like them all. Good looking collection.
