Katsusauce Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Let's call this build "pau" for now..... I still need to fabricate an exhaust system, and a few other little stuffs. This one really pushed my skills....thanks to everyone who keep teaching me new skills and tricks of the hobby. 11
XYHARRY Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Awesome custom pickup Katsu. I liked your wip and love the finished result. Your attention to detail is inspirational. Cheers, David. ?? 1

Zippi Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 I really like this 41 Chevy pickup. Nice color combo and I like how you left the bed off to expose the chassis. Nice build. 1

espo Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Watching the WIP and seeing the engineering in the chassis and the engine was really impressive. Great paint work. 1

Scott Colmer Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Excellent detail and design on this one. How did you do the Siamesed intake stacks? 1
Street Rod Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Awesome pickup! You did a fantastic job on the custom work and detailing! 1
NOBLNG Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 That is really sweet looking!? I’m going to have to check out your build thread!? 1
TonyK Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Very sharp! I like your comments that you've learned a lot as it's one thing to learn, but another to apply it to a great looking model. I couldn't have done it. 1
TransAmMike Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Great looking super detailed '41 Derik. Great work? 1
Ferbz Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Great build! Details and especially bodywork/paint are super nice ? I noticed you're in Hawaii! You ever have humidity wreak havoc with your paintjobs? I'm in Texas and I have to watch the humidity like a hawk when I do my paint work... 1

Yes, I keep a close eye on humidity levels when I paint. Here in Hawaii humidity is normally on the higher side, sometimes I adjust the paint mixture to accommodate for the humidity but when it's really high there's no spraying for that day. Another thing is, I don't use a dehydrator. I still like letting my paint jobs dry on their own....I seem to get a deeper gloss by letting it self dry. Edited November 24, 2022 by Katsusauce
Steve H Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Beautiful build Derek! As the others have said, that paint job is spectacular. The ‘41 Chev trucks have such an amazing front grill, one of the best IMHO. Great details all round, I have my eye on one of those engines from Iceman. Do they need much clean up? Cheers, Steve 1
Koellefornia Kid Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Awesome! Nice paint and I love the stance! 1
