OldNYJim Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 First one of ‘24 in the bag! I’d been wanting to work on my bare-metal (or ‘natural metal’ as the aircraft guys call it) painting skills, and I haven’t built a Deuce in a while, so this seemed a logical project to start the year Used the Revell 3-window body, chopped, with the 2nd Gen Hemi from the 5-window kits, 3D printed wheels and tires, switched out the airbagged rear end for a Revell Parts Pack Quickchange with a T spring and used about every metalizer paint I own for the various finishes. Build thread here: And some pics…thanks for looking! 18
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Very good looking finish and the Hemi is perfect. Fun to see this. Headers are perfect. 1
Lobo2me Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Very nice! I really like the finish treatment on the chopped-top seams! Well done!!!! 1
Yeah Nah Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Well done on the intended look! Nailed it for sure. 1
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Hi Jim! Very nice, and the chopping "scars" make it even more credible. Bravo! CT 1
gman Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Love your '32. Great job bringing it across home plate. 1
mustang1989 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 You pulled that off pretty dang well Jim and good usage of the metalizer bud. 1
espo Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Like how you did the body finish and showing where the body was modified and repaired. This has a mean looking stance with those wheel and tires. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Gobs of realism! Looks really true-to-life. Excellent weathering and detail. 1
Phildaupho Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 That is one tough looking Deuce Coupe. Well built. 1
ismaelg Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Dude, you forgot to paint the car! Very nice and convincing finish. Really great. 1
Bainford Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Wicked Deuce, Jim. I really like the natural metal finish. The build thread was very informative. Cheers. 1
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 That's the very definition of a bad-ass hot rod! -RRR 1
carrucha Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Cool hotrod. I really dig the natural metal finish. 1
Mr. Metallic Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Very nicely done Jim. Thank for taking us along for the ride. I absolutely love the rear tires. The sweep from the tread to the sidewall just nails the vintage bias ply look in my opinion. As always your little 3D printed items are little jewels on the crown. Especially the taillight bezels and carbs. I sent you a PM with a couple questions. Congrats on a well done model, as always I look forward to following the next one. 1
atomicholiday Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 This might just be the best build up of this kit I’ve ever seen. The NMF is fantastic. Great idea by the way.? 1
Steve H Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Looks great “finished” Jim, it just needs some paint now ?. Thanks for sharing yet another, really cool build. 1
