I'm liking the front end design a lot, It's looking great. I agree with Andy about the wheels, especially the front ones ( no panic stops 'cause you won't be going anywhere with those ?)

It is looking good! I got a little scared when I saw the putty job!!!!

Those custom wheels are something else! Kinda like solid wooden spokes!

Yeah, the guys at the club meeting got a kick out of my mockup setup too.? How’s this…better??

Those wheels look better, Greg, it could be the next big thing. After reviewing, I realized you had replaced the cross member and I should edit my previous comment.

The stance is now set in styrene!

I tried to modify the AMT ‘51 Chevy header to work, but wasn’t happy with the prospects. So I scratch built a Cast Iron manifold for it. IMG_5825.thumb.jpeg.4d0f301a7d58af18b3ca5b7de3543d64.jpeg

I also detailed the injection system a bit. I originally wanted to use the side draft carbs from a Corvette, but they stuck out way too far for my liking.🥴

The downside of the exhaust mod is that I have to relocate the distributor to a front drive setup. Not a big deal I figure. There seems to be quite a variety of modifications that have been done to these engines so I’m not worried about 1:1 accuracy.

Very nice detailing, fun to see more builds with this engine.

Really coming along nicely Greg. You've done some amazing things too this '31. That was a lot of work on the body, and it came out perfect! The roof mod is so cool. That intake on the engine looks so nice. One area that I think needs to be addressed is how the engine is sitting in the chassis. Right now, as it sits, the engine is nose down in the front or high in the rear, however one may see it. Maybe lowering the rear of the engine would help this. Just a thought.

Thanks Paul.🙂 The engine attitude is on my list of things to address. I did modify the ‘29A transmission crossmember and got it too high. I will lower it some more, and that likely means un-doing my firewall mods or moving the engine and trans forward.🥴

Looking good Ulf.  I was looking around for an engine on Texas 3D Customs website and saw this blown slant 6 and thought about your build.

Cool looking engine Bob….but I think you want Ulf’s ‘34 Ford thread.🙂 He too is using the Fisher 12 port engine.😎

This thing is looking super cool. That side profile is just killer. And this is where that cool Chevy six is going. Really digging what you got going on, here.

Unfortunately, I am not going to use the exhaust manifold.😕 Moving the distributor to be driven off the camshaft gear creates problems for the pulleys.

So I’ve put the distributor back to the stockish location and built a set of headers instead. Also changed the draft tube to an oil filler tube and will add a pcv line later.🤔 I drilled the block for a remote oil filter and added a mount for it.

And I corrected the attitude of the engine. What a can of worms that opened up.🥴 I had to move the firewall back and after a number of tries to get everything to sit nicely, I discovered my floor pan was about 1/16” longer on one side, and everything was a little Rooster-eyed.🥵

I reeeeeeealy like the re-engineering you've done on the stovebolt. It looks legit. Headers are perfect and the oil filter looks like 1:1. Really nice details, Greg.

Hi Greg! Sheesh, I leave the board for a few minutes and look what I miss. This is a very cool rod. The intake set up is killer! I like that you chose a six, rather than a hemi, or sbc. Nice to see something different. Both of your exhaust set ups are well built, the headers do add a slightly more “hot rodded” look. Beautiful work as always sir! Oh… the styrene wheels do look a pinch better than the cardboard units!
