Yes, from 83 or 84 possibly. I had the 83 with a more vertical formal roof and small rear window.

Mine also has the formal roof  with smaller rear glass. Here is a shot of one with the standard roof.

Replacing that formal glass is no fun. The top has to be pealed off and you will find a Mark V glass on the fiberglass buck that is added to the roofline. That glass is held on with clips. Then the top has to be re attached which is akin to reupholstering that top. Expensive to do and not within the realm of do it yerself work unless you are skilled in that.

Until last April when a distracted driver (per his citation) failed to yield when the light turned and he turned left...presumably to get to Subway.  Took me two years to find a G8 that wasn't beat.

Yep.....Only 100K on it.  Fully optioned base model, including the sunroof and the 11 speaker stereo.....black on black.  The wife couldn't believe I made a 200 mile plus round trip when I got it (it had the leather seats with the bun warmers) until she drove it.

This was only about 15mph impact but it outweighed the Mazda 3 so much, it spun the other car that the cops had to ask what happened as both cars were facing the same direction.

Replaced my 2012 Accord SE with a 2021 Accord Touring 2.0. Love driving it, very quick for a 4 cyl turbo sedan.

Still have my 2012 200 that I bought new and have had it almost 9 years now (just 2-3 weeks away from the anniversary), just short of 113k, still runs and drives good and still more than capable of making those new wider than stock and Z Rated BFGs work for traction?

This is my summer ride.  I wish someone had made a kit of this NC (third generation) MX-5. The only ones I have seen are the NA’s and ND’s.

Last week wife & I were talking about a cheap truck to haul stuff.   We were so tired of having to arrange to borrow a truck and dealing with all that.   Cruising CL and found this in among all the $30K dealer trucks.   It lives at our house now.   Got it for a great price I think.   PO has $5000 in reciepts of work done and we got it cheap because Covid.  I've spent a bit in a week on parts to make it better and started restoring on things the PO hadn't gotten around to.  Runs like a champ.  Looks a bit rough.  A 1:1 model project.  No rivet counters allowed to look though.   LOL.

5-speed overdrive in a 1981?

It's a stick.

Edit. You're probably referring to it not being available in '81. :D

Other than a small wrinkle in the front bumper and a little sun burn on the paint it sure looks good. A day with a clay bar and some good wax it should look as good as new. Sounds like a great buy to me if it runs anywhere as good as it looks. Hard to find anything in decent shape for that kind of money.

Yeah. As far as I remember, the light duty manual was a 4-speed OD (3rd direct, 4th OD). It was also used in Mustangs until it was replaced by the BW 5 speed in 1983.

I didn't think about it enough before I decided to open my mouth. :D

I remembered my '87 had the 4 speed overdrive which was used only a few years so they were hard to find. '88 was the first year for the M5OD 5 speed overdrive which is what I swapped in mine.

LOL. I worked for a couple of Ford dealerships as a service advisor, dispatcher, and assistant service manager from 1986-1994. I remember the M50D bolted to the 4.9L, but am having serious brain fade remembering any manual 5.0L trucks. The 4 speed OD was basically an aluminum toploader, with a new tailshaft and top rail shifter. The whole thing was built by Tremec.

Looks like Randy got himself a nice solid ride, probably for pennies on the dollar. #thumbsup

I have an '87 F250 4x4 with the 4.9 and granny 4-speed trans.  It's a cool old truck.  I pulled the slobbering big six last summer and did a complete reseal and bearings.  It'll probably run another 33 years.

302 V8.   5 spd od stick, yes.   Likely the Mazda sourced 5 spd.  Used in later (88? +)F150s, a few light duty 250s, supercharged t birds and cougars, from what I've read.  First is awfully low.  Proabably a reasonable tire shredder in the cars.  I've been easy on it so far.  Installed by a reputable local garage with POs money.   New clutch.

Paint isn't burned.  It is either spray bombs or the worst spray job ever.  Hope to start cleaning on paint this evening.   Pressure wash everything I can.  Then see what we have for paint.  Maybe steel wool it to make is smoothish and some sort of shine juice.  I've spent a little chunk on it so far just to get the interior to where it doesn't feel like a crime scene (way too much dirt and DNA in there) and a few other doll up things.   Ordered a set of shiny dog dishes today.

I'm going to go for a "survivor" vibe for a while.   then see if it feels worth doing any more to it.   Should come around good enough to cruise in if the mood strikes.

I have been looking for a nice truck like this for some time.  I love the square trucks. they are my favorite style. My wife has been giving me grief saying we dont need one, but i really want one. I told her if i could find a nice one, i would sell my beetle and only keep the truck. I rarely drive anymore and having a car payment on the beetle is silly

The closest i found in my area was an early 80s f100, but it was nowhere near as clean as this and he wanted 5k. This is much nicer
