crazyjim Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 An old man drives the wagon. Seen it on TV several times over the years.
Mike999 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Found nothing at the flea market today. But I hit some thrift stores after the flea market, and found a great display case. About 6 feet tall, several glass shelves, lighting etc. It cost $32. Now I'm trying to figure out where to put it, and how to get it home. It sure won't fit in my car, even with the top down. I'll either borrow my Mom's small SUV or hit up one of my friends with a pickup truck.

Lunajammer Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Got a "Yes" and a fiancee when I proposed to my GF under the total solar eclipse on Monday. My first engagement you understand. We were steadies in college, went our separate ways for about 22 years, then a few years ago became reacquainted through a mutual friend. Older, wiser, more patient, more mature, etc. The rest is history. Edited August 24, 2017 by Lunajammer

Ran into each other in 1974. Married in 1975. Still together. Better second time around!
unclescott58 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Actually I got this in yesterday's mail. Missing Link's 1970 Mercury Cyclone. Very nice.

Now start her off gently by giving her a couple of Snap-Kits for your first-month anniversary, instead of useless flowers or something...:-)I got the big display case home yesterday. That Thrift Store was a class act. Called and told them I was coming to pick it up, after drafting a friend with a pickup truck. (I bribed him with a free lunch.) When we walked in the door, the woman in charge said "We got it all ready for you." They sure did! Display case was sitting on a hand-truck, right at the front door. The glass shelves were removed and neatly wrapped in old towels and newspapers. We just had to back the truck up to the door and put the display case in it. One problem - a couple of the glass clips/retainers need replacing, being broken and cracked. Probably just from old age, they're plastic. A trip to Lowes should fix that. Everything else seems OK, like the lights etc.
Ramfins59 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Congratulations Mike. Best wishes for a long and happy life together.

Lunajammer Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Thanks for all the kudos guys. She's grown to understand modeling and especially had an awakening when she accompanied me to GSL in April. She'll never have the patience to build herself, but it's enough for me that she gets what modeling (and car shows) is all about. Now, about the motorcycle...
cobraman Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Found this one while walking around Wallyworld. # 719 for the collection.
