Was my birthday last week, and the family knows what I like; cars from the 80s and stuff for a garage diorama I'm working on this winter.

Flea Market Day. No kits today, but one seller had a bunch of these neat Hallmark "kiddie car" Christmas tree ornaments, cheap.  They appear to be about 1/24-1/25 scale. Thought they would look good in the back of a pick-up truck or in a diorama.  I might even try some weathering on them.

It didn't fit on a '51 Chevy either, but hey, we're modelers.  Also, it doesn't have an interior at all. I am having fun with this one. I need to get back to it.

I've never seen this 1/16 Fujimi Porsche 959 in a hobby shop, got from someone who had to stop building models due to health.  The seats slide and recline!  The two intercoolers are included, but there are no pipes going to the intake!  So there are still details to scratch build to make complete.  There are two electric fan parts under the grill.  (I've built the Tamiya 1/24 kit)

Had this as a Revell kit many years ago . Thought I would take another crack at it . My first job was at a Texaco station so I will do it red with Texaco decals .

Snagged a couple Johan Mopars for very cheap and pretty much complete. Just won this '62 Chrysler 300

Bought this '68 Fury Police Pursuit

 

I just missed getting this '67 Fury Sport. A complete kit for only 40 bucks. I didn't pull the trigger fast enough.

I could kick myself.

Paint arrived for the little grey Fergie, from Eastwoods, nice to receive the free sample of the enamel thinners, but I'll be thinning out the paint with lacquer thinners.

I love those wheel covers.  Did yours come with the red center piece?  There should be a red bullet peeking thru all those holes!

To tell you the truth, I don't know. I won't know until I get it on Monday, Tom. I won the auction at 11:03 P.M. last night. I was the only bidder. If you want the wheel covers, you're welcome to them. I'm going to rebuild it bone stock anyway. I'll let you know when it arrives.

Pretty sure I have some of those wheel covers laying around somewhere myself.

Don't remember having any red center though.

 

Personally, I always thought these wheel covers were as ugly as sin!!

Managed to track down this one in Marseille, France,  seems impossible to find here in the UK

Great kit, only thing I didn’t like about it was the mold line across the curve of the ‘boot’ lid
