So, this arrived today... a very impressive 6 days from HobbyEasy in Hong Kong into my hands:

What could be in this huge box that takes up my entire work bench?

I might have to do the unboxing piecemeal... I don't think there's enough room for all the parts trees, etch, fabric, tubing etc on my bench...

These two arrived this morning, separately, the E Type was supplied by Revell UK for a review build for the Scale Modelling Now magazine.

Interesting! Scale Modelling Now Magazine, I've not seen of heard of it until now!

Didn't know there was a Revell UK. I hope they are pushing for more British classics to be tooled.

More of a distributor, really... the days when Revell actually originated tools in the UK are long gone, though the 1/25 E Type convertible was one. As for British Classics, with the Mini x2, the Land Rover and E Type x2 , Revell has done the true icons. New tool DB5 might cut it, but pretty much everything else is a niche interest, much as I’d like a Jaguar XJ6, Bentley Continental or Alvis TD21...

Thanks for the info. I know I would love some Jensens, MGs, Triumphs, Austin Healeys, Aston Martins etc. but as you say not enough builders share my view. And I guess there is no point hoping for Airfix to step up and do a 1:24 car.

Would love to see a Lotus Cortina, Rover SD1, Aston Martin Lagonda, Lotus Carlton, Escort RS Cosworth...

I think your best bet for the Cortina and Rover is Beemax or maybe NuNu or Belkits. The SD1 would most likely be in BTCC guise. Perhaps our friends at C1 Models or Motobitz might do some street interiors if that happened..? Tamiya has some fast Ford Cosworth hardware in the back catalogue, so maybe Ebbro could do one of their reissues...

Air-trax have a cortina in their list of resin kits. Theres also a seller on ebay that occaisonally has a rsin mk1 cortina but its not worth having. It doesn't look too bad in the pic but the roof and hood are both sunken and dont really have the right shape. Thats not even mentioning the amount of bubbles in the resin or the lack ofbody lines. I'll probably give it a shot after the moggy minor build problems have been forgotten

Everybody likes to put Mutt IIs down. But, I've always liked them. They were the right car at the right time. They kept the Mustang franchise going in tough times. And in particular, I liked the Cobra II version. Right from the first time I saw it. Below arrived in today's mail. It's Greenlight's 1/43 scale 1976 Mustang II Cobra II. In blue no less. The color I've always wanted one in.

I had one of these cars white with blue stripes ,biggest piece of junk after 2weeks bunt down to the ground .

My dad had a plain brown Mutt II coupe, with the 4 popper under hood. He bought it new in 1977. Not a great car. But, not a bad one either. No worst than other cars of the era.

But, you can see what I mean about Mutt IIs getting no respect. The first response to me bringing them up, is someone telling me what piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH they are. All cars in that era were piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. Don't ask me about how many times I had my first brand new car, a '77 Plymouth Volare, was in the shop it's first year. A lot more than my dad's Mutt II. 

Despite both of those cars being junk. I still like the looks of both the Mutt IIs and the early Volares (and it's sister the Aspens). And I'm glad to have a couple of Mutt IIs and Plymouth Volare model in my collection.

Both from eBay. The Lincoln was $20, so not what the reseller store price sticker says.

I had a parts Lincoln kit a few years ago, but wanted to try out an idea with this one, and the (assuming Monogram got as close as possible to Prussian) blue colored body parts are something I really like, too. I may have been strongly influenced by recently reading about the development of the '41 Lincoln, though...:

Why did I get this ugly toy..... everything is ugly, the color, the proportions, think the scale is about 1/30.

The Soarer looks like a really nice kit, I got one in a trade some years ago. Keep thinking about putting a Lexus V8 into mine.

I got this one a few weeks ago, but handed it over and my son wrapped it up as a Christmas present for me - they never know what to get me otherwise:

Has been lightly started, but nothing major and the bodywork is just detail painting on the unpainted shell. Will sit nicely alongside the AMT Ford Courier and Dodge Ram 50 kits I have to do one day.
