I just ordered it and hasn't been rec'd as of yet...but according to the MicroMark site, "only takes up 16"x7"x10.5" benchtop space". I have the perfect tool stand to mount it to. I have been on the fence for over a year on spending the money on it but a friend of mine swears by it as it works equally as well for plastic as it does metal. So when MicroMark offered it in their Memorial Day sale at roughly $58 off, I pulled the trigger! Once I get it and get a chance to play with it, I will post a review in the Tips and Tricks section. 1
TarheelRick Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Not exactly model related, but since I will probably be doing any building on the dining table for the next few weeks following my surgery, I thought it would come in quite handy. I can put tools and supplies in the drawers and use the top area as a smaller work area when necessary. It is 12X6X6. Got it at Lowes for $19.98 - $17.98 with military discount. 13

I bought one of the Harbor Freight mini tool boxes for my airbrushes, I liked it so much I bought one for my work desk to keep pens, sticky notes etc in and another for the table beside my chair in the living room. 1

I got that same unit as a retirement gift. I have used it a lot…mostly for light guage metal. I really appreciate having it.🙂 If you do any work with brass sheet you will find it especially useful. Edit: One thing I don’t like is the lack of a full width fence on the right side of the shear bed. I put a square against the blade and scribed a line on the bed flush with the little block they give you. I often scribe a line on the metal and eyeball the cut, so I removed the spring loaded hold down bar for better visibility. Edited May 28 by NOBLNG 1

oldcarfan Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I took a flyer on one of those too cheap to turn down things and got an old built-up Revell Bug Cabriolet. From the color, I'd guess it's a 80s issue. It came just as the sale pictures showed, no paint, no sanding of seams, just some kid having an afternoon of fun with a Five and Dime kit and a tube of Testor's Citrus glue. We've had thunderstorms this afternoon so I couldn't paint. Instead I started the disassembly on this little Bug. For once rough shipping and handling helped as a lot of parts were loose in the box. The only thing missing is a headlight so I may fit it with some 911 headlights instead. That whiff of citrus really brought back some memories every time I broke an old glue seam! 6

That colour reminds me of a Pyro ‘32 Chevy convertible I had in 1960s. steve 1

That has to be the old "Skip's Fiesta" reissue judging from the color. 😉 I've never had that version of the kit but it looks like it had some nice parts included in it like those Porsche Fuchs wheels. 4

That definitely looks like it. Mine is missing the wheels and tires but is other wise intact. Luckily it came apart with little trouble. Maybe I should track down a tube of that citrus glue to be true to the original builder. I have a box of Porsche wheels and tires and other parts so I should be able to get it back on the scale road. 1 1

WillyBilly Posted Friday at 09:58 PM Posted Friday at 09:58 PM (edited) I never win ebay auctions. Last Sunday night I placed minimum bids on 7 with 0 bids about to expire withing 24 hours. I won 6 of them, only losing out on a monogram Citation. Long story short, three showed up today. Like I need another b-body. Can't have too many. I have another 94 Impala SS coming too. The Junkman Posted Saturday at 05:27 PM Posted Saturday at 05:27 PM (edited) Yard sale: one and a half Monogram '65 Impala coupe kit. Box had one unbuilt full kit and a partial build of the interior pan and the engine bay of the other. Poorly done, glue smears, seats with the seatbacks glued to the floor (basically upside down). Got the whole set for $1. You'll get no complaints from me but now I've got to source another body and glass. Edited Saturday at 05:32 PM by The Junkman 1

bandit1 Posted Saturday at 08:41 PM Posted Saturday at 08:41 PM Just got back from the West Virginia Racing Heritage festival and the model car show there the buddy of mine brings me a box .. This is what was in it... The 50's Ford truck is missing I think one rear fender but is a great rebuilder for someone else? Yellow mustang looks like it was assembled rather nicely and will go on a case As Is White mustang looks like it was meant to be a dirt track car Ford truck is a uniside kit with no engine (Not a curbside) The red Ford sedan looks like it was going to be a drag car of some sort? Extra Ford truck cab and some odd/end pieces, and what appears to be a fender for a 55-57 Chevy truck??? 2 complete trailers just needs cleaned up and fixed Have a couple extra trailers with no axles or anything... Not sure what the orange piece is from? A toy of some sort the guy was converting to a trailer? Kyle Petty stock car... Unknown brand/maker Camaro stock car of some sort? Would like to find the missing glass for it ? Again unknown brand/maker Does say "Made in Hong Kong, @Design and Marketing concepts. Inc 1986" on the chassis Also what appears to be maybe some revell asa Camaros and a Torino body and some other body in the making to be a dirt track cars??? 2
