I built a Peterbilt and a van trailer as a kid and always wanted to do another big rig. I don’t really have room for a truck and trailer, so I figured this would be a good compromise.

That was the first kit I bought when I got into the hobby. I’ve yet to build it though, because I told myself once my skills get better I’ll touch it. I got about 30 kits that I simply won’t touch until than lol.

That's a yes and no for me. Yes I'd like an engine, but no I don't want to pay Model Factory Hiro prices for them.

I hear you.  Feel the same.  Seems this will be the only way to get modern Ferraris except for diecast.

Another one I decided I "needed" after its full-scale big brother came up on a thread here...an AMT Mustang II bought specifically to build "Sudden Death". Being one of the originators of the whole "pro street" thing, it needs a place in my collection.

Sweet!  I know it’s not a very popular body style with mustang fans, but I always really liked them.

I liked them. I had 2 . A new one in 1974 and in 1978 a new King Cobra . They were not fast but they both served me well and I got a lot of compliments on the 78.

Yeah, I pretty much had no use for 'em until I saw "Sudden Death", which I wasn't familiar with 'cause '75-'76 was right in the middle of my Euro-sportscar-snob period. Always liked Pintos though, and what's a Mustang II but a prettied-up Pinto?  Stick a big engine in it, with a lot of setback, huge slicks...you have my attention.  :D

EDIT: Now that I think about it, a Mustang II could make a great smaller pro-touring build too, 1:1 or scale.

My wife had a 74 Coupe when I met her. Yellow with black vinyl top, V6 car.  It was a nice little runner!

I wish I knew about the existence of this model. I could have saved some time making this...

Bill,

If you are looking to build Sudden Death have you considered the somewhat recent "Fire Fighter" Mustang kit? If I remember it has some nicely stretched rear wheel openings and a slightly (I said slightly :) ) more accurate engine compartment.

Either was you go it will be a cool build.

Thanks for the suggestion. The front suspension looks better on the Fire Fighter too, at least on the built photos I've been able to find. Thinking, thinking...  :D

Hobby lobby run for some paint today and I picked up this kit.  I’ve never built it and don’t know anything about it.  I prefer unmodified muscle cars normally, but the box art really catches my eye.  Also, the price was right.

All from the same eBay seller:

IMG_5278.JPG.efd16c87d83710c07bd878a061dac8f8.JPG

They offered me an attractive deal on the wheels and threw in the green-painted TE37s as a bonus. The CE28s may find a home on the Accord/NSX mash-up I'm currently building, handy that they're already gunmetal.

The Nissan RB20 engine is a bit of a fraud, but I knew that. It's just the top half on a plate, but should still look deent on a 'curbside-plus' build.

Came across this one at the local harware store. I wasn't even aware they sold models. It was in among the puzzles. So I bought it.

That kit also has the stock parts so you can build it stock if you want, Jeremy.

Finally - after waiting almost a year since pre-ordering I received this Profil24 Cunningham 1952/53 C4RK in 1/24 scale. The comparison picture with the Fisher/Dragon C4R is deceiving because they are almost the same size.

Got the Revell (Ex-Monogram) '66 Malibu Flipnose Street Rod, and the Revell '29 Roadster with the Chevy Small Block.

Both look great in the box.
