1930fordpickup
James, nice score! I suppose my wife isn't too bad about it really, but she does question why I need them stacked floor to ceiling, on shelves, and why I don't get them done faster, lol. Just tell her it is like the 10 pair of black shoes she has ,they are all different . LOL
simonr
Believe it or not, these are some items I have ordered in the last 3 years or so, or that I have brought from model shows in the states since 2012. I had used some of them and back to the bag where I brought them, because, I would like to pictures them, not just only to post the here, if not, to have a record of what I bought that lends me to what I have, because, sometimes I forget what I have in my hobby room. Well, this is what I have now available to use: Japanese power!! More goodies... Simón P. Rivera Torres

slusher
This is the best find I have got in a long time. The only thing missing is one tire, parts are in great shape and the glass is good. I hope I did alright? Gave $10.00 for it! Man that's a great find and price. Please don't say ebay, I have been looking at the Johan kits and not found a great deal.... ChrisBcritter
E-bay is crazy on model prices, all over the place. I found it at an antique mall in Deerfield, Ohio Congrats on the Toronado! Wish I had an extra tire for you. And I fully agree on eBay; there's one particular vendor ("blzzzfn") I check every Saturday night just to watch the bids hit the stratosphere - even on common items. It's like Barrett-Jackson in miniature. Unfortunately I got outbid on a wrecked '64 Dodge promo I need for the interior (Modelhaus told me they won't be making one ). Tom Geiger
E-bay is crazy on model prices, all over the place. I found it at an antique mall in Deerfield, Ohio I've seen worse prices at antique malls and flea markets! Once at an antique mall one booth had very recent AMT releases that were marked as "Original from 1966" even though shrink wrapped, with bar code and dated in the 1990s. When I pointed it out, the booth owner got nasty and told me HE was the expert and I didn't know anything about old models. And of course the flea market...you know when you spot a kit from across the aisle. Then as you make it towards the table, you recognize it as one of those AMT truck snap kits of the late 1980s. Up close, the box is completely sun faded from sitting out at flea markets for years. The box top is sunken in and the shrink wrap is all tattered and blowing in the breeze. Just as you see it, the booth owner sees you and says, "That there is a genuine antique from the 1980s!" and utters some absurd price for a kit that you can find at model shows for $5 or $10 in much better condition! Danno
"That there is a genuine antique from the 1980s!" I'm having trouble with phrases like that. And police officers born in the 90's. And things like that. Antiques (and authority figures) aren't supposed to be younger than I am!

Antiques (and authority figures) aren't supposed to be younger than I am! Agreed... like when a Crown Vic pulled up to the gas pump next to me and I realized it had New Jersey Historic tags on it! Never mind that the Geo Tracker I bought new in 1991 will qualify (25 years) in two years! Edited May 19, 2014 by Tom Geiger
The70judgeman
I just saw Wisconsin Collector plates on a Plymouth Voyager mini-van the other day! Sure it's gonna be worth boat-loads of $ in the very near future.

Sure it's gonna be worth boat-loads of $ in the very near future. Well, ya know our current trend of station wagons? Last year or so I saw a 1984 Caravan, gold with the wood on the sides, in mint condition with 20,000 something miles on it sell for over $15,000. Note that the kids who grew up in these are hitting 30! Time to collect their youth!

Tom Geiger
Tadpoles! I went out to adjust my pool cover pump this morning and was greeted by a million tadpoles. My pump puts the water in the creek, so I'm hoping that many of them went down stream. I grabbed up a bunch to watch them develop into little froggies. That's when I let them go in the woods. The little thingies are probably mosquito larva. The tads will eat them.
The70judgeman
@Tom- Wish I would have taken a pic of it, but it wasn't mint in any way and I was driving too. Not totally rusted out, but surface rust and rust through holes in the usual spots....typical 20+ year old Wisconsin vehicle. Just thought it was a little funny. niteowl7710
This is more like - What Did I Get Last Week Vintage Japanese HellaStockIMG_20140512_140723_609 by niteowl7710, on FlickrIMG_20140512_140952_578 by niteowl7710, on FlickrIMG_20140515_125916_051 by niteowl7710, on Flickr There's a whole saga involved with this MG. It was listed as new and unstarted, so imagine my surprise to get it and all of the interior parts were in separate clear lunch baggies all painted up and ready to go with the seats glued into the interior, and the dashboard completely missing. Now granted the REST of the kit was new and unstarted. So after much back and forth and the opening a case on eBay the seller tracked down the missing dashboard, and then refunded about 75% of the purchase price. I just wanted the dashboard, as the interior work while needing some touch-up (like the seat back seams removed) is actually a respectable effort and beyond adding in some additional work I might well leave that part as it came.DSC01593 (1280x829) by niteowl7710, on Flickr Edited May 20, 2014 by niteowl7710
