Hemified71 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I hate to bust your bubble but it is clearly labeled on the package as a Liberty Walk design. Here's a real life one. My bad... Was looking at the Chally on the right... Totally missed the Chally on the left ??
lordairgtar Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Found a 2005 Impala Police car built up at a rummage. Just pealed off the Huntley Illinois PD stickers. Gonna make a nice family sedan out of this one.
Rob Hall Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 The April issue of MCM...better late than never, I suppose.
Crazy Ed Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I'll just bet after the Mail distribution Truck dropped of the Phoenix Area's Bundle of MCM's it overheated and broke down on 10 . Not this far South yet.
landman Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This. Looks like I overpaid. About two hours after receiving it I get one of those eBay notices "Are you still looking...." and there they are half the price I paid. Go figure.
Quick GMC Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This. Looks like I overpaid. About two hours after receiving it I get one of those eBay notices "Are you still looking...." and there they are half the price I paid. Go figure. Don't feel bad, I just paid the most I ever have for a kit. It's rare, but I still probably paid double what I could have if I waited.
Quick GMC Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 The "Challly"??? How would you pronounce that? In an Australian accent
crazyjim Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 April 2015 #194 MCM arrived yesterday in pristine condition. It's late, but what's new, but I sure happy to see it.
smellyfatdude Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This finally arrived today, still sealed in the shrink wrap. Once I got it open, I was quite happy to discover that it's molded in white, not red plastic.
Tom Geiger Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This finally arrived today, still sealed in the shrink wrap. Once I got it open, I was quite happy to discover that it's molded in white, not red plastic. Both the ones I have are molded in a cream colored white.
smellyfatdude Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Both the ones I have are molded in a cream colored white. Yup, same with this one. Indoors I'm tempted to call it "cappuccino" colored. But again, not red is all I cared. There were so many nice factory colors that year, this is going to be a tough choice.
Tom Geiger Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yes, the box art is probably the Winterberry Red or the Russet Red. That's pretty much the feature car for that year's brochure. I had pictures somewhere of a four door done in the Yuma Yellow with a white top. It was very nice looking, especially since I've never seen a model done in that color.
Deathgoblin Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I got my digital camera back! YAY! I finally got the chance to go through the storage bin and found it. Still missing my DSi.
niteowl7710 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This. Looks like I overpaid. About two hours after receiving it I get one of those eBay notices "Are you still looking...." and there they are half the price I paid. Go figure. That's cause you bought a last issue Revell AG boxing of it, not the version Revell just stocked onto the shelves last week.
philo426 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 My '60 Desoto is molded in Red but I may paint it silver with a white roof.
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This finally arrived today, still sealed in the shrink wrap. Once I got it open, I was quite happy to discover that it's molded in white, not red plastic. I'm really glad to see so many of these popping up here! I would love to see a bunch more of these built in every color! I really wish someone would do some more Desoto kits. They sure had some beautiful cars! Steve
thatz4u Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yup, same with this one. Indoors I'm tempted to call it "cappuccino" colored. But again, not red is all I cared. There were so many nice factory colors that year, this is going to be a tough choice. If my vote counts, use color CC-1
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Yup, same with this one. Indoors I'm tempted to call it "cappuccino" colored. But again, not red is all I cared. There were so many nice factory colors that year, this is going to be a tough choice. Personally, I'm seeing "Adobe Rust" with a "Shell White" top. Steve
smellyfatdude Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Personally, I'm seeing "Adobe Rust" with a "Shell White" top. Steve Yes, that is a nice combination. Or, I might just swipe peekay's color scheme. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92215&hl=
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Yes, that is a nice combination. Or, I might just swipe peekay's color scheme. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92215&hl= That is a nice color! Nothing on the chart that really comes close to it. If they would have offered a similar color in '60, they may have sold a few more Desotos! Steve
om617 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 This finally arrived today, still sealed in the shrink wrap. Once I got it open, I was quite happy to discover that it's molded in white, not red plastic. Very nice score. I have one of those, clean build-up with no paint, thankfully. On the hunt for a 60 Chrysler.
