ChrisBcritter Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Finally got a set of AMT '62-up 13" promo tires with nice bright clean narrow whitewalls, plus three extra kit 13" tires. Been looking for those for my reissue '64 Comet for a while.
wayne swayze Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Went to "Dave's Hobby" in Woodstock Ont. and picked up a Moebius '71 Ford Ranger. Kinda pricey, but hopefully worth it.
Tom Geiger Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I had been stalking 1969 Pontiacs on our favorite auction site for a while. Most of them were going over $50 and near $100 for old built ups. I finally got lucky and won this '69 convertible for $32.89 plus $7 postage. I also had a $12 eBay Bucks certificate so this one is coming my way for less than $30 complete. This was the last one I needed to complete my full size Pontiac year set.
unclescott58 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 At tonight's model car club meeting, I pickup up both Moebuis' '71 Ford Ranger XLT pickup and Revell's '57 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon. Got home, opened them up and took a quick look. My first impression of both kits? I'm fairly impressed, and look forward to building them both. I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. Scott

chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 So, it was paycheck day. On the way to Hobby Lobby, we stopped at the Brewer Goodwill. In a bag of toys for $2, I found a Polistil Honda CB 750 diecast with a broken handlebar. I asked them to take the rest of the cr-ap in the bag and I'd pay $2 for just the bike. At Hobby Lobby, I got a bunch of stuff. Another MPC Jeep (still on sale at $14, last one on the shelf), a Lindberg '34 Ford Pickup, a Monogram T Street Rod, and a Revell Snap-Tite Corvette Convertible (in the scratch-n-dent for $10). Also picked up the AMT Racemaster slick set and the Goodyear drag tire combo pack, along with some 3/32 aluminum tubing to use for exhaust pipes. At the Brewer WalMart on the way back, I got a Revell Peterbilt 359. All-in-all, a good day for models.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 What system do you play V on ? Xbox 360. It's what I could afford at the time: $100, with a bunch of games and controllers, a 60gb HD as well.
martinfan5 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Xbox 360. It's what I could afford at the time: $100, with a bunch of games and controllers, a 60gb HD as well. shame, Im on PS4
chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I plan on buying a PS3 sometime soon, if they allow cross-generation online play.
Tom Geiger Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Whatcha gonna do with this one Tom? I bought the '69 Pontiac to complete my year set of full size Ponchos. Right now the rest of the built ups I have in this series are neatly tucked away for future restoration. The plan for the set is to restore them to stock. I will have to see how it looks when I get it. I know one of the posts is broken, so I'll see just how bad. If the paint is really bad, I may just strip it now. Otherwise it will join the rest of the cars in that box! Edited July 10, 2015 by Tom Geiger
mrknowetall Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 eBay find. AMT 1959 El Camino from the seventies "Street Rod" series. From the original owner, or so he said.
smellyfatdude Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I got my first truck kit! Well, no . . . . I actually have about half a dozen or so truck kits. But, in all the years I've been building models, I've never even so much as started one. This will be the first one I build, and I don't think a guy could pick a better kit for the first time out!
