GeeBee Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I'd ordered a few items just before I flew out, had a few parcels to open last night, bought some paints for the Revell Porsche and Deutz tractors, the 2 bodies I'd ordered from Jimmy Flintstone arrived safely, very impressed with his quality and service.

ToyLvr Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Got this Frog/AMT ‘68 Corvette today from one of our fellow Forum members over in the UK. (Thanks, Si !) Been looking for one of these for a long time. It will be quite a restoration project, but at least it’s all there. If it looks a bit “off” to you, like maybe it’s a slightly stretched Opel GT, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. ? For more info on this kit, and Frog models, click on this link
ChrisBcritter Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 (edited) Picked up some good stuff in the last couple days. First off, a friend of mine from my car club in SoCal is thinning out his collection, so I got these from him: The TC is one of those kits I've always wanted but never got around to; I built the non-motorized version of the T long long ago. The El Camino is a bit rough but excellent Kustom fodder if I can patch the quarter panel. The rest of my friend's stuff is going up on eBay; his seller name is Packratius_Maximus (which would describe many of us ). Then, I got these from Tom Piagari's widow: The Ghia is a Hong Kong friction in (I think) slightly under 1/25; I'll have to polish out some box rash on the roof. The '57 Buick Roadmaster is an Argentine toy cribbed directly from the AMT promo but in styrene; it was a project Tom and I were both discussing doing (just got a '58 Buick chassis for it). Finally, the Renault stash was another project; I believe he wanted to build a stock R8 from the Gordini and a full-detail Dauphine from parts of three Record kits and a Hubley body. These are part of Tom's legacy; just hope I can do justice to them. Edited November 2, 2019 by ChrisBcritter
stitchdup Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 I need to keep off ebay on payday, the model t was sent by mistake and should be a golf convertible
Cpt Tuttle Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 I like this generation Dart, so I hope it's a good kit too.....
thecrossguy Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Love a good 3 for $25 buy. Got these at the model show and expo today in Oregon.

cobraman Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Came today . The 60 Ford is for donor parts for a resin 62 Ford I purchased . The resin Cobra kit is one I wanted for a long time but was too cheap to pull the trigger on it . I hope I can do it justice .

ChrisBcritter Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Third place for that stunner of a VW? Demand a recount!
Exotics_Builder Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Well, I was extremely fortunate today. I brought 4 models to the Oregon Society of Scale Modelers Show today and 3 wound up collecting some recognition.

So far, that is four members that were at the show.
lordairgtar Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Our model club (AMG) had their annual auction. I got a 66 Marlin, Aoshima British Taxi, 1/32 scale Scale Star Ranchero and Thunderbird kits.
Bucky Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 To be honest...I didn't get this today! HAHA I did get it a few days ago, tho! The following pics show the contents of the open box kit: The following pics show the unusual aspect of this complete kit: The parts in this kit are molded in a swirly blue/black color...or maybe it's blue/dark blue. Sorta like a bowling ball!! HAHAHA I know these cars were white with red/blue stripe kits, or paint schemes, but I may build this one as a custom with swirly paint!! I've never seen a Jo-Han kit molded in swirly plastic, before. I have another of these kits, still sealed in the plastic wrap. Didn't really wanna tear into it, but my curiosity might get the better of me!! LOL

Not long ago I bought one, NIB, molded in black. Would you rather work with a black one? Just wonderin'.....
Modlbldr Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Great job on all of the awards guys! They look like some amazing builds. My wife and I went wandering through a thrift/antique store today and I came home with three record albums (two Eagles and a Santana) for my turntable at work (it's nice to be the only one in the shop) and this sealed from 1963 Monogram 1/8 scale whitewall tire set. These will go to my buddy who builds 1/8 hotrods. Later-

LoL I was leaning in that direction as soon as I opened the box! If I find another one like this, I'll give ya a shout!
Snake45 Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Local toy show yesterday. Got the reissued AMT '77 Monza 2+2, which I'd never seen anywhere before, and and AMT '67 Camaro including two resin hoods and a resin RS grille. Didn't really need another one, but it was a good price on the lot. In glue bombs, got an IMC/Testor Cougar II that looks like it should "rescue" nicely without a whole lot of effort. Also picked up a Monogram Bad Actor ('69 Chevy SD) because it has a blower/injector setup I happen to need at the moment (I think it's from the Monogram '70 Chevelle), but it seems to be fairly complete and the body hasn't been painted or butchered. I might have a go at "de-Daniel-fying" it, something I've wanted to try for a while. Yes, I realize it can't be taken all the way back to stock, but I'd like to knock some of the more egregious '70s Kustom Kitsch off of it.
thatz4u Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 haul from the C.A.R.B.S. show in Dayton this weekend.....plus an AMT 60 C-10-6 cyl engine, Van interior parts, & original 65 El Camino Camper that is complete...next week end is the Dayton Toy show....the adventure continues...
