FoMoCo66 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I was sitting at my desk today and I sneezed, the sneeze shook the whole desk. Of course my diecast model of a uh-1c huey fell from the too shelf. ?♂️ but of course it broke into a million tiny pieces, good thing I know a friend called ca glue.

Just becuase something is said a hundred times that doesn't me it's the truth. The world needs to wake up and treat each other better. The world needs to realize violence is not the situation. Somehow there needs to be a catalyst to make this happen. Violence was once frowned upon, now it's rewarded with no bail walk free BS.. law enforcement has their hands tied with the Idotic calls for defunding them and new niceness tactics adopted to insure the alleged perpetrator(s) don't feel like a criminal..BS.. Also as long as the party division and labeling are continually gaslighted we'll never all get along and that catalyst will naturally happen as it has before. I've never been so disappointed.. call me nieve but I still have hope.. 2
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I'm talking about the world in general. Not intending this to be any political conversation. I believe that the humanity has so much potential for acting better between themselves rather than hatred for others and those are craving wealth and power. 2

But, Bob, Humanity has always been this way. The last 60+ years of Relative Peace are the anomaly. The Normal World has always been Hobbesian. Nothing about Humanity has changed in 5000 years. We are still the same, fallen, evil people, that Humanity has always been. What is hard for those of us of a "Certain Age", is that we grew up in world that was mostly peaceful, and we think that is Normal. It is not, and never really has been. We mourn the loss of a way of life that made sense to us. Watching it change, and disappear is hard for us. Especially since Violence, Force and the 'Law-of-the-Jungle" are becoming the new Normal. I feel for you. Glad You are Healing. My Late Father was an Alumni of Chico State. 4
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 You'd think that 5000 years we would have figured it out. No I'm not of the belief that we've every had real peace in the world. There have always who seek power over others. What purpose does it serve to have billions of dollars. There are so many things that money will never buy. In the Star Trek next generation movie Picard talks about humanity being transformed and cast off the need for greed and wealth and there are better things to aspire for. Budda came from a rich family but realized that wealth was not the most important thing in life. He chose to teach others to follow that path. You cannot put a monetary value on some things. A beautiful sunset or the singing of a songbird. Being grateful for what you have is just so important. I doubt that mankind will figure this in my lifetime but there is hope that it will eventually happen. 1
stitchdup Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 unfortunatelly war is very profittable, there is always and will always be war because humans cant get along and always find the things that divide them as opposed to things that link them as one race. whether it politics or religion or whatever else there is always division. Once the higher up politicians and world "leaders"(lol) learn how to communicate on an even footing things might change but one side always has to have the upper hand. the division is created as they know theres more of us than them so since they own the media they push the division as that keeps them in power and power is a much more dangerous drug than anything an addict uses 3 1

89AKurt Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 You would think an optometrist shop would know what customer service is. On 5/16 I ordered new lenses for 3 existing frames, the Silhouette frames that also needed new clip-on sunglasses. Was told those frames would take about a week to get drilled and lenses installed. Today (2 1/2 weeks later) I got a call, they are ready. When I tried them on, looked in the tray, then asked if the sunglasses came too. The young man went "what?" I said "Yea, I paid for them." He looked at the order and realized HE FORGOT TO ORDER THEM! "Oh, I'll order them" while I thought good idea moron. Hardly an apology. ? Will be loaded for bear next week. 1
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 We have been experiencing temperate in the 100s the last couple of days. Yesterday the high was 104. We lost power last night at 8:30 PM because someone took out a power pole. Typical to when things go wrong the backups generator had an issue. We didn’t get power back until 3am. It was hot. Fortunately this didn’t happen earlier when it was a lot hotter.

I've seen Hueys hurt almost that bad flying again in less than 30 days. Don't despair. She'll be fine.
FoMoCo66 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 It's mostly glued back together. The only thing thats stopping me is I'm missing the swash plate arms and rotor shaft. I think it's either between the desk or in the carpet somewhere. ??
89AKurt Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 My OCD is showing...... Since I'm a car enthusiast, who has done autocross and track days, and had a father who passed on some tips from law enforcement driving training, this picture bugs the hell out of me. They should use someone with hands at the 3 (or 2) and 9 (or 10) o'clock positions, and not look like they are day dreaming. Try doing an autocross with the one hand at 12 o'clock, you would run over several cones and get a really shitty time. The elbow on the window sill with hand on the chin, g-forces or rough road, and it looks stupid, might as well be picking his nose. What if an animal or stupid militant pedestrian jumps in front of you, you would make the car lose control by jerking from that position, look for skid marks on roads where they suddenly veer off the road. I had to change something on my insurance, so I showed it to the agent, and she said they have a way to give input to corporate, so she promised to give this complaint. I have more to say, but it gets political, so y'all will have to stay in the dark. 1 1

You expect intelligent ads from insurance companies when there representatives are dinner waitresses, talking geicos, and emus. Most cars and even trucks produced today even have a section of the steering wheel with a different grip design at the 10 & 2 locations. You would think that in itself would give a driver a glue. 1

As I understand, since the airbags were installed in the steering wheels, the optimal hand position is now 9 and 3. Leaves more open space for the airbag deployment. 1

What is it going too be like in the south and southwest. Hot weather is not good for me with MS. Heat of summer makes it worse..
