I did step out of the vehicle to get a closer look at it. I noticed the right side of the bike looked like a hot mess with wirings all disarrayed. Seeing that, I suspected maybe it isn’t WW2 era nor US made after all. No wonder he wanted to sell it. Cool thing to find for sale though. A side note... I did see a ‘55 Chevy going the opposite direction yesterday afternoon. It has been a long time since I saw one on the road in my area. Turquoise and white - definitely the classic color scheme of its day.
PatW Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Ah Thomas being in the UK we don't see many if any American cars, they are just to thirsty, we are paying 1:42 per litre now that's about £5:60 per gallon!
Jon Haigwood Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 You definitely don't see this car driving down your street everyday Ron Courtney’s Legendary Custom One-Off ’51 Ford
Sam I Am Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I saw this on the road today, from the best angle.....behind the wheel. ☺️ I am doing some upgrades on this for the owner. Over the weekend I rebuilt the front suspension with brand new tubular a-arms, heavy duty sway bar and steering linkage. The front end was aligned today so I had to make sure the suspension settled in. I love my job !

That car showed up frequently at our yearly MIni-Nats. I've always loved it
OldNYJim Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 (edited) Spent some time in Manhattan today and saw a few that caught my eye. Harley trike: What I thought was a van with a rocket on top (turned out it was more mundane than that) Liked the paint on this - looked cool in satin! Super clean old Merc: Whatever this is - looked fun! Something practical for NYC gridlock ? And another old Cadillac to add to the collection of old Cadillacs in my mostly-old-school-Italian neigborhood: Oh, and an electric unicycle contraption, for when you’re sick of transporting yourself around in a safe manner! Bucky Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 In the category of "Wish I had my camera", I passed a small used car lot today that had a '65 Falcon Ranchero, '60 Imperial, '72 Riviera, '63 Nova, and some others I couldn't see well from the highway. Hopefully, I can get down that way again, soon, and take my camera with me! I also spied a gorgeous '65 Falcon Futura in a yard for sale. It was a bluish silver color with black interior and white accent in the side chrome trim. If only I had a few extra coins............
STYRENE-SURFER Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 A couple shots my nephew took on consecutive days while visiting a law office in downtown Boise Idaho. I live in the poorer part of town (the Bench) LOL! This is one well healed enthusiast.
Draggon Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 What are those things in front of the rear wheels? Something to keep you from driving away if you owe money?

TarheelRick Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Just wondering if there has been a resurgence of love for the last year T-Birds? I have seen three out on the interstate and one in town over the past week - a black, one, red one, and turquoise one.

I owned a '72 for several years and added the factory F41 springs, sway bars front and rear, and a set of KYB shocks. With a wheel base just a little longer than a Chevelle and the engine siting just behind the front wheels these had a nice weight distribution and hiway tar strips don't upset the ride.

This one has the rear sway bar and the front one is adjustable, very flat in the corners now. Yes, these are a real nice road car. The owner is taking this car from Portland Oregon to Southern California for his 50th class reunion. It is a factory A/C car that blows ice cold. I am redoing the interior and changing the bench seat to buckets with console shift, adding a tilt wheel, dakota digital dash, cruise control, and a set of factory rally wheels. Then I get to bring his 60 T-bird home... Edited August 12, 2020 by Sam I Am

Then I get to bring his 60 T-bird home... I had a set of Corvette 15 x 8 Rally's with 235/60 x 15 tires. seems anything bigger would rub on turning in and out of driveways. Of course this was are 1978 and 1979 and the only 16"ers or bigger were on Farm Trucks. Just a standard 350 4bbl and turbo 350 and the 28" glass packs had a real nice rumble to them. One owner that I picked up at around 85k miles and it never used any oil or had any leaks.
stitchdup Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 A lancia delta drove past me on my way to work tonight, It had the martini rally decor but no wide arches and the engine sounded too quiet to be an integralle. Still a nice looking car and not a lump of rust like most were locally. Last night I saw a swiss registered early moggy minor traveller getting on a ferry, Looked to be a clean maintained original rather than a restored one
Deuces ll Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 A '68 or '69 Buick Skylark convertible cruisin' down my street.... Sorry, no pictures...??
BlackSheep214 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 No pics but a 1969 Ford Torino 4 door for sale, a 1963 Chevy II, and a Ricer on the side of the road. Apparently one of his slanted out tires snapped off the front. Tire rolled a ways away and across traffic the opposite direction. LOLOLOLOL!!! I hate those BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH ricers because they think they're the next best muscle cars. Yeah right. Ricers sound like lawnmowers on crack. Noisy as hell.
GLMFAA1 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Caught this Friday night in Trumbull county Ohio, in the vicinity of where Route 66 shot a show. just needs the luggage rack. 1961 Corvette greg

And some really smashing theme music. I believe I read somewhere that what we have here is closer to the true color of the "hero car". It was assumed to be red but that didn't photograph well in B&W film. Edited August 17, 2020 by The Junkman
TarheelRick Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 On the way back from the hospital this evening I met a white '66 Impala convertible, with top down of course. Looked to be bone stock, really sweet for a Bowtie.
