iamsuperdan Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 We have a local gem of a used car lot. It's all consignment, and it's all classics. Lots of custom cars and trucks, hot rods, muscle, you name it. So we were driving past yesterday, and something caught my eye. Kind of thinking about this one. 1979 Ranchero. Needs some bodywork, but it's mechanically sound. Rockers are pretty solid, underside looks good, The rear quarters and front fenders are toast, everything else is surface rust. Interior pretty clean. Has a 351 under the hood. Starts and runs really well. Hmm... He also has this beast of a Cougar. Which I also dig. The Mustang in the background would make a great project. 1

Lots of options for these things. Tough trying to find one that ticks all the boxes, plus a 5-spd, but they're out there.
Tabbysdaddy Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I had a 4 door 78 Cougar. I thought it was pretty cool.

Suburban_Hooligan Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Buick GNX. and being driven in the rain no less. and a pretty decent looking 63 impala. yesterday i saw a 49 chevy pick up and a 57 chevy. oddly enough both were black with white tops.
Rodent Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 A Lucid Air. Then I saw a hillbilly-modified F250 that rear-ended a newish Range Rover, pushing it in to a newish Volvo XC90. Ford and Range Rover were bleeding fluids fairly profusely. My Carnak senses tell me that underinsured motorist coverage is going to be used here. The Range Rover looked a couple feet shorter than when it left the factory.
Suburban_Hooligan Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 R32 GTR being shipped out. do to sighting location im assuming it had just left Top Rank Imports and was heading for the 605 freeway. had enough time to ready my phone for this one (i was stuck next to it at a red light)
swede70 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) Greetings, Maybe not strictly seen on the road, but stationary and slightly off it! For an extended period the vehicular love of my life was a '74 BMW 2002 that I reluctantly sold seventeen years ago presumably never to seen again. Two days ago in northwest Detroit a friend and I spied it resting more or less inert and almost untouched since I had it. All the books and paperwork I'd included and set in boxes remained inside, whereas today I was very kindly availed much of it back for free. Seen is my bald self before the not quite shattered remains of my ride. May it live on, whereas hoping to devise someway to telegraphs thanks and appreciation for inspecting such and being afforded what I carried away. Thanks... sfhess Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 70-ish Mercedes 280 SE sedan and an Alfa 164 in the same block here in Salt Lake City. I have seen four or five Rivian pickups here. 1

Its interesting to see the differences between them and the ones we got I recall talking to an (older) firefighter years ago (probably at a car fire). He was waxing about how as older=classic VW's passed out of their useful lives the number of car fires he and his crew had to deal with dropped drastically. His theory was that the flexible fuel lines became brittle and eventually leaked onto the hot exhaust pipes. I had a 73 VW but it had left before it reached that point.
