ATHU Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) Hello guys! Just completed this one. Pretty decent kit that went together without any issues. Color is Vallejo Sky Blue. Thanks for checking it out! Edited March 4, 2023 by ATHU 6
Rich Chernosky Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 That is a really sweet job on that kit Anders. The color, fit and finish are all perfect. Great job.
Jim B Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) Great looking Mercedes. Well done. Edited March 4, 2023 by Jim B
jaymcminn Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 That is insanely pretty. Unusual color for a Gullwing but it really works. Great work!
1959scudetto Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Excellent model, Anders - in a very unusual color. The "Principauté of Monaco" (residence of the rich and super-rich) license plate is absolutely fitting here ! Therefore it must the latest reissue of this kit (I have the original issue in my stash) which seems to have different tires - at least they look different, mine are the same as in Italeri's Ferrari 250 and 275 kits - though both are too wide. Great combo together with the later Roadster ! I plan my gullwing in dark grey like you did your Roadster, and the open car in a light metallic green with dark green uphostery (I read some time ago that a few were produced in this rare combination).
Pierre Rivard Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Congratulations Anders. A beautiful model with a unique color choice. I'm always unsure of what we will get with Italeri kits but this one looks like good quality.
Anglia105E Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Excellent choice of colour for your gullwing Mercedes Anders . . . The Vallejo Sky Blue acrylic looks great ! David
David G. Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Good color choice, excellent detailing, nice solid looking build! David G.
Gluebomber Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Beautiful work, Anders. Congrats for taking the "road less traveled" by using the Italeri kit vs Tamiya. Also, I love the color choice! Great Job!
peteski Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Both models look great! I do like the unusual (but pretty) blue paint. I didn't know that Italeri made a model of that car. Was it Italeri's original, or is this the same kit as the old AMT kit?
NYRich72 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Super build of one of my all-time favorite cars. I have the Tamiya version but, after seeing your Italeri, I just ordered one to add to my collection.
ATHU Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Thank you guys for your kind feedback, very much appreciated!!

I don't really know but my best guess is that it is Italeri's original. As I recall it the old AMT kit was 1/25 scale.

It is Italeri's own development (no ex-Esci or Protar reissues like they do often these days...) - they released their own gullwing and the roadster in the 80's (ca. 1986/87). I have both and also the amt kit which is totally different: 1/25 scale with poseable steering and opening doors and trunk.
Funkychiken Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 A lovely pair of mercs. The flocking of the interior looks great!
