  1. Again thanks for the complements. I had a chance to speak with Carroll when he autographed my art. He said that the GT40 roadster was one of his personal favourites and that it pained him greatly to have to destroy it. I presented Mr Shelby with a high quality copy of the original artwork on better paper than the original during a Shelby reunion at Road America many years ago. I feel blessed that I had an opportunity to speak with him at length about his involvement in the GT40 program when he was involved with it, a memory I will always cherish! I only wish I could have had it autographed by Lloyd Ruby when he was at a R/A vintage event. Unfortunately I was unable to make it and he passed shortly after.
  2. Another sad truth to the above post is once Fred completed his task everyone but Fred will get credit for a job well done. Unless it's not, then it's all Fred's fault.
  3. Kyosho Mini Z R/C bodies actually scale out to 1:27 scale. Resellers and some direct retailers often mistakenly list them as 1:24. While the R/C chassis are adjustable and can accept model kit bodies, Kyosho bodies are smaller than 1:24/25.
  4. Went through it too when my father passed. He had quite a few vintage cars and parts in addition to quite a bit of automobilia. Once I beat the vultures off claiming he promised them this or that my sister and mother then became a huge problem despite everything being carefully accounted for in his will. It's still ongoing unfortunately.
  5. Given the current kits available now such as Revell's Broncos, the Honcho, and various other pick up kit's from all the manufacturers, Casey's idea for the plow and service truck accessories is really a good one.
  6. Wow, now that's nice! Great to see one of these built.
  7. Based on the amount of new and updated tooling Round 2 seems to invest in sci-fi subjects I don't think we're entirely floating them. That being said I like most of the suggestions so far. One thing to keep in mind is that even though there's numerous parts and assemblies that appear to be from separate molds in some of these kits it may not always be the case. It would largely depend on how the mold inserts are set up in their bases as to the possibility of running certain sprues and then even grouping them together for a parks pack. It may not be viable from a logistical or financial standing, especially concerning accessories from older tooling. As for the motorcycle parts packs, first off they are from Revell and there'd certainly be no crossover between companies. In addition there's a number of reasons we probably (very unfortunately) won't see them due to numerous issues, licensing being a big one.
  8. Outstanding artwork (as usual) and really cool build.
  9. Totally agree! Plus I really like the photography, nice technique.
  10. Very cool, love the interior color combination.
  11. Nice to see it's being reissued. I passed on this kit in it's early releases since I had other purchasing priorities at the time. Glad I waited, I like the box art much better than the Ertl issues and figured we'd see it again at some point.
  12. Wow, thanks for that insightful and helpful review. However if you would have searched the forum a bit you would have seen this and perhaps saved some time and money.
  13. Excellent build, captures the look of the original issue. One of my favourites too.
  14. I did box art building for Revell/Monogram in the 90's and have seen it happen a number of times. Many things can cause projects to halt at almost any time during development even if it is just a reissue.
  15. Excellent!! Great looking build, you really captured the look!
  16. Beautiful job on that kit. It's one of my favourites. I had the opportunity to build the kit photographed for the box when it was originally released. I was working with a another builder doing box art builds in the 90's while Revell/Monogram was owned by Binney & Smith.
  17. Far more than 50,000 when you consider how many times kits have been reissued over the course of 50+ years. Take AMT's Trophy Series for example, '32 Ford's, '40 coupe and sedan, '49 Mercury to name a few.
  18. That looks cool, looks as though the driver is in the middle of a powerslide.
  19. The "T" has a Lanthem blower. The Potvin can be be found in the Double Dragster, AMT Hemi parts pack and the Revell Orange Crate to name a few.

    Very cool!
  21. Wow! Excellent job, really has a great look.
  22. Or... She's an incredibly bright and talented young actress! "I'm not a moron, I just play one on YouTube" This scenario is doubtful unfortunately, sad to say.
  23. Nice Street Snorter. That and the Mighty Maverick are some of my favourite castings.
  24. Cool build, reminds me of one of my favourite 60's competition Corvettes. Can't wait to see the finished product.
