  1. hah!!! I knew I'd seen that before, just took me a while to find it again. that is definitely one of the cars you can't "un-see". saw quite a few gems along the way.
  2. I like to think of it as a big brother to the Mustang... A Galaxie 500 Sport
  3. dang, I keep looking for one of these kits at a price I can afford (hasn't happened yet) so that I can build the "what if" I photo-chopped down in the Auto Art thread. I will be watching this build.
  4. really nice fade on the paint, an excellent door prize.

    Boss 429

it looks really good, BMF is never easy. a wash on the wheels would keep the spokes from disappearing due to the shiny back plates.
  6. nicely melded kit bash, I like it.
  7. I'm not really an X-FIles fan but I was annoyed about the post game overlap also since my wife is trying to get me hooked on xflies (don't think that'll work). Fox could have just taken the post game blather off to their website rather than annoy viewers who set their recorders for the time slot listed.
  8. I think the key words in Bill's response are "really competent body shop".
  9. I hope all peeps in the storm area survive okay. this type of weather reminds me of why I would rather sweat than freeze, I'll take scorching summers over frostbite any day.
  10. hmmmm, I was thinking it looked like one of the large kits. there is a "Big Boyz" thread/section for builds bigger than 1/24.
  11. I always enjoy getting a glimpse into "craftsman" shops and builders. thank you for posting the link to one of my favorite builders.
  12. I like the GR1 just a little bit more than the Daytona repops. ...which may be sold as the "Ford Shelby Daytona"
  13. Hubley and Premier produced Nash Metropolitan kits.
  14. well, it would have had a better point of reference if the darned multiquote would actually "multiquote" what I wanted to multiquote. I was just giving counterpoint to the frozen snow people.
  15. I just love how it "dries in minutes"... everything "dries in minutes", some just take more minutes than others.
  16. I am curious what changes you are making to the fuel lines... I had noted the "non-traditional" fuel system you had installed but didn't say anything since some builders hate "rivets".
  17. it's a balmy 71F in my back yard, I may just do some sunbathing.
  18. I was wondering that also...
  19. it's very intense. if you were actually over there, you may not want to see this movie.
  20. I think I like the sister car better ( but won't post what that is till after friday).
  21. Hi Dave, there is a forum thread for these types of questions... Model Building Questions and Answers
  22. who here would create a national/international critically judged automotive contest similar to the big national contests of the 1960's? I'm not suggesting replacing GSLMCC but expanding on the concept to have quarterly winners end up at GSLMCC. kind of like almost every state now has their own "Comic Con"... there would be quarterly regional contests that could be held in conjunction with local clubs...or sponsor local clubs to expand the contests.
  23. wait a minute, I don't see an alternator bracket at the top of the windshield... (just kidding) beautiful work.
  24. I think it would be cool if forum members would wear their forum screen name while at the show or plan to meet up while at the show to get a little face time. I added my screen name to my ancient Moonlight Modelers badge last year... didn't seem to get much traction...but that's okay.
  25. It seems like you have to go to a "trade school" these days to learn mechanic skills (no matter the branch or discipline) and even then some of the schools just seem like an organization designed to take your money without imparting the proper skills to actually perform (what some of the more experienced professionals consider) actual mechanical work. The same can be said for most of the schools that take advantage of the supposed rising trends... dental hygienists, truck driver, network analyst, air conditioning tech. There will always be the small percentage destined to work on cars or work metal due to their inherent talents but there will not always be the experienced professional to pass on the benefits of knowledge that would accelerate the young talent through to competent work. The lack of companies that recognize this issue contributes to the decline.
