  7. Very nice!!
  8. I do not see this happening. Revell is one of the crown jewels of Hobbico, and the crown jewels always go for a premium in bankruptcy proceedings. The worst that could possibly happen is that another model company buys Revell with the sole intention of acquiring the molds and producing the old "Revell" models under their own name.
  9. David, basically you are correct, but the new pieces make the cars handle very differently as far as the setup goes and how the cars respond to in race adjustments. When Toyota introduced the new model of the Camry in 2016, the Toyota teams struggled for almost half of a season. In fact their 2016 season kind of mirrors Chevy's so far. Hamlin won the Daytona 500 and then the Toyotas ran very inconsistently until the 2nd half of the season. Toyota then placed 4 drivers in the Chase and Edwards and Busch ran for the title in Miami. They were a juggernaut last year. Kyle Larson was the best Chevy driver last year. He has been up and down so far this year. He shows speed at certain parts of the race and then it falls off in other parts. One of the things they have been complaining about is that their in race adjustments are not working the way they anticipate they should. Or like they did with the old car.
  10. HMS had an internet media company do a documentary series on their operation in the 2016 season. It covered all four teams as they prepared for the races and their time at the tracks from Daytona through Indianapolis. The one thing that I came away with from that series was the absolute reverence HMS has for Jimmie Johnson. It eclipsed that for Jeff Gordon. Things change, but I do not see Jimmie Johnson going any where. He will retire from racing at HMS. HMS is also Chevrolet's number 1 team and no one else is close. The present is Jimmie Johnson. The future is Chase Elliot and William Byron. Once Elliott wins his first race, he will win them in bunches for a long time. Byron is an auto racing prodigy. He will have a learning curve, but when he figures it out, he will win races in bunches for a long time as well. Chevy will pay what it takes to keep HMS.
  11. It has been known by the hobbyists that Hobbico has been in trouble for a few years. The insiders in the business knew before then. I have been told by people who work in extending credit in the purchase area that as soon as they knew one of their clients was having difficulties, the credit tightened up. The accounts payables and other short term credit issuers (think modelling companies) may not be in that much trouble. It's very likely those that issued the long term credit are the ones likely sweating. The people to feel sorry for are the ones who are supposed to collect their pensions or are collecting a pension. The ESOP was mentioned as a creditor. If Hobbico fails and the pension plan is taken over by the Feds through ERISA, the employees who expected a pension may never be able to retire or will retire at a much lower standard of living than they were expecting. Those collecting a pension will get a haircut they never saw coming and it will be devastating.
  12. Hope you get better soon. My wife tripped in our driveway back in November and messed up her hip and back. She still cannot stand up straight, and goes to see another doctor today.
  13. Great job! Looks real nice.
  14. Wow, that looks really nice. Great color choice!
  15. Looks nice. Making guns is not that difficult, and with your skills, you can do it. My suggestion would be to get 1/35 scale guns as a reference and then size them up. 1/35 scale is a popular scale for military models and finding guns will be very easy.
  16. Looks great!
  17. Very cool Scott. Did I read the box correctly that the set is "N" scale? My dad worked for Santa Fe and is big into HO.
  18. Looks very sharp. The paint and the detail work is outstanding.
  19. Great looking model! Very nice work.
  20. Great job! That would have been real cool to get props from Nadeau.
  21. That car looks fabulous! I would definitely buy a few if models were ever made.
  22. Assuming you did not leave boxes checked, the practice of selling items to you that you did not want is illegal in a lot of states. If you of a mind to, you can file a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office and ask them to investigate.
  23. The start of this season has the feel of 2014 when Harvick won the title. Right now he has speed on a very consistent basis; whereas, a number of the other cars are fast for only parts of the race. Elliott seems to be the only Chevy driver that is showing speed in most every race. Larson has been hit and miss. The other Chevy teams are just holding on until they can figure the new car. Hamlin, Busch and Truex are the only Toyota drivers who are showing any consistency. It has been an odd year so far.
  24. Japanese companies are very incestuous. There are a few exceptions, but they tend to only want to do business with other Japanese companies. They have always been this way and likely always will be.
