Really like this build! Colors, stance and details all look terrific! I think the wheel/tire combo you used is one thing that really sets this build off; I wouldn't change a thing! Did you scratchbuild the rear/side window glass; it doesn't look like a kit part?

Dodge D-50 Navy Pickup
'70 Grande replied to Tom Geiger's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Tom, This is a great little build! In my hometown we had an International Harvestor assembly plant, and they had a small fleet of these same Dodge D50 trucks, all in IH Red paint. Those little Dodges were always scooting around town! I'm going a different direction with my build of this kit; converting it into a "factory-phantom" TA, (as in TA Challenger), D50 with the shortened cargo box, small block 340 V8 and a performance suspension. If you wouldn't mind emailing me your WORD doc for that dashboard, I'd certainly use it on my D50 project! (I'll PM you with my email addy). Thanks! -
MPC/Round 2 - Pony Express is back from the grave!
'70 Grande replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It sounds like Round-2 will be reissueing the 1/25 AMT 1976(?) Pinto, (coupe, not station wagon), kit sometime in 2019. I wonder how it might compare with this MPC Pinto wagon kit when it comes to flash, parts-fit and fidelity. -
Really like this build! Your paintwork looks outstanding! Also really like your wheel choice; where did you source those wheels from?

67 Buick GS 400
'70 Grande replied to yellowsportwagon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Tim; that's an excellent listing that I'm certain I'll refer back to many times in the future! But, why-o-why did you have to add that FWIW comment at the end... that'll do nothing but get hopes up and make me lose some sleep as I dream for what that future release might be!!! -

Yellowsportwagon; that is one outstanding build! You need to start a fresh post about it with more pics and your build details... it deserves it! -
Great looking build! Paint work and color choice is outstanding! Does anyone think Revell will ever see fit to release this kit in a hardtop version?

Salvinos JR Monte Carlo
'70 Grande replied to MG Brown's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Along with the rear bumper seeming a bit over-extended, I think the front bumper looks alittle too "snug" and tight/close to the front bodywork. (But I also realize that many 1:1 Nascar builders of that era did move front bumpers backwards/tighter to the bodywork). -
Really like this build! Paintwork looks great; color choices are right-on! What kit is this build based-on?
-
Oh yes; in my mind, this is probably the most difficult/fiddly-to-build model car kit ever produced!!!

Really nice build! Don't see these built-up very often; this is one of the best that I've seen! The added side chrome trim really adds alot to the overall look of this build!

"The Coupe From Riverside" - DW Cheetah - "Scale" Photo Added 12-3-18
'70 Grande replied to TooOld's topic in Model Cars
Both of these are excellent builds! Really like the engine details in the smaller version, (surprised it has that aspect in the smaller version but not so much in the larger version)! ? ? -
An outstanding build! Everything looks just right! I'm curious; can someone tell me what that "tank?" piece represents on the front/driver's side inside the engine compartment?

I thought the Cabriolet terminology might be the French word for Convertible, but that makes me wonder why this "vintage 1969" box art style has the French translations on it, but the recently-shown 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle reissue-kit in that same "vintage 1969" box art style has no French translations on it?!?!? (Maybe packaging-consistency isn't an important priority at Round-2).

I'm not sure I understand the "Convertible Cabriolet" product description on that '69 Plymouth GTX box lid. I doubt that Plymouth would have used words like that, especially in 1969!

Is that "completely Chrome engine" a Ford 390 V8 with Thunderbird valve covers?

WOW! That is one outstandingly beautiful build! Incredibly clean; great paint color choices; the finest build I have yet to see of this particular kit.
-
Awesome looking build and conversion packing that engine into that engine bay! I'm curious how you created the front spoiler; to my eye it really enhances the overall look of the front end, and if I can recreate that piece, I'd probably add it to my own in-progress '70 Superbee build!

´78 AMC Pacer with a lot of ´06 Camaro DNA
'70 Grande replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Cars
Its possible the added-on custom front-end on that Gremmy just "bulks-up" the overall look of it! -

'70 Grande replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Cars
Really like this build! Your conversion work is outstanding and the finish looks excellent! I was quite surprised when I saw that last photo; in my mind the Gremlin should be overall a bit smaller than that Pacer, but the photo sure makes the Gremmy look like a larger car than his younger brother. -
News of Revell molding preparing in US
'70 Grande replied to Jon Cole's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Almost 50 company/corporate/individuals named on that listing alone, and when kits get issued/reissued the model company gets to write somebody on that listing or some other list a $ check. It's easy to see that alot of factors, (many financial), go into the decisions for what kits are put into production. Makes me think turning a profit in the model-making business is no easy task. -
There's been alot of excellent builds of this kit posted out there, but this one is probably my favorite! All around excellence in this build.

Pics could easily make the viewer think this is a 1:1 shot... Very nicely done! Posts some pics of that roughed-up version too!
