  5. Try this link. I think it's what you need. Scroll down to the '68s. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/
  6. Best wishes Harry!
  7. Wow! A beauty for sure!
  8. I'll be making the two hour drive down to attend for sure. Looking forward to it!
  9. I'll agree with the problems of getting rid of the yellow (usually heavy) undercoat. Many solutions for the chrome plating, but the undercoat can be a bugger. And, unfortunately, that's where the part detail can get covered up. Depending on what I'm removing the plating from, I'll spend alot, or a little, time with the undercoating. Easy Off appears to be the only way to minimize the work in getting rid of it, but even then there are times when even that's not enough.
  10. I think most of us "cold weather" modelers will admit to having used rattle cans during the winter in garages, or similar places. Is it ideal? Absolutely not, but if you don't have a dedicated booth w/exhaust, then you'd be dealing with laquer or enamel fumes inside, which for many just isn't an option. Personally, not having a booth, I switch to craft acrylics during cold weather to be able to shoot inside, but still occasionally will run to the garage with a rattle can. I just be sure to have the body (or whatever) warm and clean, shoot, then bring indoors shortly after. Granted, it'll still have to gas off, but the worst will remain in the garage. It works....
  11. I'll join the choir.... my problem isn't that I don't KNOW what to do, or HOW to do it, it's my aging eyes, fingers and joints don't always allow things to happen as I plan for. Unfortunately, frustration with my physical limitations sometimes ruins my enjoyment of building. What I need to do is scale back my goals for my builds to include less added detail and kitbashing. Catch 22 though..., that's what keeps me motivated for most of my builds. I'll make it through this transition period and get used to building more out-of-the-box, with a bit less detailing and things will be as fun as they always have been. I can't be as tough on myself as I have been. One thing I'm NOT short on is time... retirement is great for that
  12. Great start on your build and great info on the class for those wanting to stay as close to "real world" as possible. Following this for both the build and gasser info...
  13. Great job!

  18. Sorry for your loss...
  19. Nice and creative! Good build.
  20. You have to admit, the internet is great when it comes to researching somewhat obscure stuff like this, and having people willing to help out in a forum like this How did we do it in the 60's? Not in the encyclopedias at the library that's for sure! I'm in watching this build! Thanks for starting it....
  21. Nice build. I gotta ask what color though...
  22. Tagging along on this one. Good start.
  23. This made my morning. Thanks for the laugh
