Thank's Dann! CHeers Pat, must have been a sight to behold! Thanks Sonny, I'm waiting for the BMW racing stripes to come as decals from China... Thanks Alex! Thanks Nigel, hope it's worth it!

There's a WIP in this Forum if you're interested. I did add a few extra details to the engine bay, and think it makes a huge difference the colour did not come out as intended, these candy paints will deepen significantly with more layers, and if you are not such an expert at even coverage, it can get way too dark! the engine bay shows the dark orange I was after, it turned out Bronzy-Brown. Actually the colour I would look for for a Ford Galaxie 500... anyway, it's finished enough for me, despite the imperfections, but it looks good on the shelf!

Excellent prgress, and great paint finish so far...

Looking Good Sonny! Good save on the body paint!

Fantastic detail in that Engine, looks great....

Thanks Matt, the orange decals put up a huge fight, and were a real struggle to take the form of the body, my pre-painting in some of the orange areas helped a little with coverage, but didn't help in terms of it being a completely different colour! thanks Alex, and I think I need to readjust the thinner content. On the RX-7 It was more or less 1 part thinner, 1 part hardener, 2 parts Gloss. For this kit, I reduced the thinner to (in the ratio described) to 0.5 parts thinner. The 2k Zero Paint mix is recommended 100ml gloss to 50ml hardener to between 15 & 30ml thinner...

The Mazda "name" and and Emblam were decals that came with the kit, the RX-7 was hand painted with Acylics (if you want a JPEG of the decal sheet, I might have it). Thanks for holding up on yours!

This was clear-coated a while ago - about the same time I did the body for the RX-7 It came out with only about 5 dust blobs, and the finish will be great after sanding and polishing, it's had 2 full coats, so it shouldn't burn through. now for that interior!

Clearcoat on. A bit of a disaster. I had reduced the thinner level to the recommended for Zero 2K, and it was really thick, struggled to come out of the AB, and for some reason I got far more dust than I expected. My process is to vaccum the room thoroughly, then after an hour, go in and spray. It is also a little rough. it doesn't look too bad from a distance, i'm going to lightly sand and polish, then the body is done. Just the clear components need to be AB'ed for trim....

THIS is done now Not perfect, you can see the crack in the tail light where it split. The clear coat went down perfectly - and made the haze from the tamiya tape clean up too. TO be honest I was spurred on by Alex, who has probably already finished his, but I was trying to get mine over teh finish line first - seeing as I started it well over a month ago! still the quickest finish for me.... next up will be finished pics

Pleeeease don't finish yours before I finish mine! Looking good so far! It's a nice little kit...
