  1. Beautiful car! And a tribute to his late greatness, fantastic...
  2. No Probs David Thanks Dann! Decals on. Man, that was a pain, a few of them were not great. next stop clear coat
  3. This tail light is not playing ball. Worried about applying a tamiya masking tape over the smoke, I gave it a clear coat with PVA through the airbrush. let it dry overnight, then masked the light areas and spayed black. When removing the tape, the tape had melted the clear. strange. you can't tell in the picture, I'm just going to clear coat it now, its the last piece of this puzzle...
  4. Nice detailing of the black bits on the bumpers and the engine looks great.
  5. Great build of a strange car.
  6. Very sharp builds, the Bel Air looks fantastic!
  7. Cool weathering!
  8. I feel your paint with the paint splurting! Looks great now, I remember this kit from about 25 years ago!
  9. With this level of quality, it would be hard to beleive that you are a newbie!
  10. Abolutely fantastic! did the CF come pre-cut, or are all these details your own additions to the kit?
  11. I see what you mean by the ghosting of filler, i've always thought that i'm just doing it wrong, i'll have to try the CA glue method
  12. The chrome on the body looks excellent, good luck with the blue! Remind us what you are using - alclad enamel? The details in the engine bay and inherit look fantastic.
  13. Fantastic, I like the extra engine detail too!
  14. Looking like a cool project! I will follow with great interest!
  15. I believe they are night running lights part of the rules of endurance racing. In some reference pics, they look like LEDs, in others, they are plugged with black cover plates.
  16. Thanks Dann, appreciate it! body was sprayed with a few coats of Zero "gulf" blue, and then a few light coats of Zero 1K clear. I've filled the panel lines with Enamel Blue mixed with black. it looks OK, mostly due to the well moulded details of the shell. I am impressed with the Airfix quility here - esp. for the scale. then after a light polish, i'm part way through applying decals.
  17. After leaving over night for the PVA to set, when taking off the tape, it left print marks in the clear red! had to sand down a little with micomesh. then carefuly mask the underside & give it a few coats of Tamiya Smoke thinned with Lacquer. this tail light process has now taken a week! I dont't understand how folk can build a car on a weekend...
  18. Johnathan, Alex & Dann, thanks for your kind comments! The tail light is taking longer than I imagined. It's had a few hand brushed coates of clear red & orange, left to dry, then it snapped. so here i'm using the body as a jog to glue the 2 pieces together.
  19. Any time Kurt!
  20. Very inventive, looks cool!
  21. It's a beaut!
  22. Looks great for a snapper!
