  1. Porsche kustom from the 1950s
  2. There are a couple of SS-100 kits out there, but neither of them are in 1/24.
  3. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2022/02/13/business/economy-business/automobile-emission-controls/ Apparently the Japanese is considering relaxing emission standards on gasoline cars as more people switch to electric vehicles. Maybe they're a good thing for petrolheads after all.
  4. Says who? I'd buy one over most of the stuff I keep being told the "market" wants.
  5. So it's 1/24 scale.
  6. Apparently the sales of their other large scale vintage racers were good enough that they decided to do another one. Now if they could see their way clear to doing one of these, I would not be too upset.
  7. I think some of the recent exotics and concept cars would do well, but the point is still valid. Who wants relevant? I can get all the relevant I want just by looking outside. Give me something that I'm not going to see on every street corner. I certainly don't care how many options you can make your '68 Borin Gazelle into, and I care even less that your dad owned one. I find it interesting that Italeri thinks it's worth cutting a set of moulds for a 1/12 scale Bugatti 35, even though all the self proclaimed "experts" keep telling us that there is no demand for either prewar cars, or large scale kits. Maybe when we tell the kit makers what we want, we shouldn't worry so much about what the "experts" think.
  8. I think the Lanchester, along with the Buick and the Hispano-Suiza, while they ere designed by Pyro, were never actually released under the the Pyro name. They were the last kits designed before the sale to Life-Like.
  9. I think the turn around time has to be an hour. but if there are quick chargers that can do the job in 30 minutes, then they should be good if they take along the right equipment.
  10. Plastic model plane kits date back to the 1930s. Here's one from 1936
  11. All very true but I'm thinking more for competitions where you don't have to worry about range so much.
  12. The electric Hummer is supposed to be good for 3 second 0 to 60 times, and this is a vehicle just shy of five tons. Imagine the possibilities if you put those motors in something lighter.
  13. The rules of aerodynamics were something people figured out pretty early, What I find interesting about the Vesco LIttle Giant is how well they did with just stock motors in a 60 year old racer. I'm wondering if with more development and a more aerodynamic shape, electrics have a shot at the absolute wheel driven record?
  14. Nobody, huh? Why exactly do you think you speak for the rest of us?
  15. Nice to hear that the large scale vintage racers are doing well, and the Type 35 definitely deserves the large scale treatment. Also nice to see that the Coupe Napoleon is making a comeback.
  16. I could get behind a 1/25 Mercer as well. Maybe the folks at ICM are the ones to talk to?
  17. Scratchbuilding wire looms is a lot less painful if you drill the holes first, then trim/sand the material to the size and shape you want.
  18. If you've ever seen the 1945 film Detour, There's a Continental with a similar treatment.
  19. I got good results holding the rod near an incandescent light bulb,, and applying gentle pressure. It doesn't have to melt, just soften a bit.
  20. CMA models announced it was working on a 1/12 scale kit of a 1937 Delage Aerodynamic Coupe, though it's been a "Future Release" for a few years now. https://www.cmamodels.com/kits-delage.php
  21. Just a thought, but maybe something of a similar vintage to the Ghia kit for chassis bits?
  22. I picked up a couple of airplane kits at the Alberta Aviation Museum. The nuseum itself is definitely worth a visit should you find yourself in Edmonton.
  23. Finecast made a metal one, and Berkeley made a balsa kit way back when, both in 1/24.
