1970 Coupe DeVille
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to Perspect Scale Modelworks's topic in Model Cars
Thanks again Jeff. The bumpers and all of the trim were done in BMF. Thank you Steve. Yes, those wheels will certainly work on your DeSoto. I have another set with the wide whitewalls on a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood. The Cadillac crests on the center caps are not well defined but a decal would take care of that. -
1970 Coupe DeVille

Thank you for the compliments. Thanks David. Mike at 3DScaleParts makes really cool parts and these Kelsey Hayes wires are no exception. I think they add depth and life to the car. The pictures were taken by my art school grad daughter. I'm still waiting for the invoice. Yes. The shifter, turn signal and steering wheel adjuster stalks are scratch built as well as the interior lights and headliner. The visor are from Iceman Collections. The rearview and side mirrors, and door handles are from the Revell Caddy lowrider kit. If Jeff says it's cool I gotta believe him. Thank you sir. -
This is a redo of a Johan 1970 Cadillac Coupe Deville I did a couple of years ago. The clearcoat I used never cured properly so I had to strip the body. It sat for 2 years before I got the nerve to redo the bodywork and paint. It's the same color scheme I used on a 1974 Eldorado with a set of Kelsey Hayes spokes and white walls from 3DScaleparts. The roof is covered with Model Car Garage's vinyl top kit. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I recently acquired a Jo-Han 72 Eldorado kit, disassembled with no box. It is the one with no side trim. I've read this old thread a few times but still not sure if this kit is rare (valuable) or not. Ron Hamilton said it's a "rarity" but that's not reflected in what I paid for it, a bit less than the price of 2 new kits. Since it doesn't represent any 1:1 car, I'm thinking of a full custom. Either lowrider style so I can use the beautiful 13"s I bought from tdanisgarage, shave the marker lights and scripts, covert it to rear wheel drive and throw in an LS engine. Or a 70's Dunham Coachwork style custom. Another option I've considered is to build it like a promo. One color inside and out and just add BMF to the trim pieces. However if this kit is something only a few people have I'd hate to devalue it in any. What are your thoughts. If you've built one please post pics. Thanks

Very nice '58. I was just looking at those wheels on ebay. Did they take much cleaning up and what did you use to paint them?

If you've considered aftermarket, 3D Scale Parts might have what you're looking for. -

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm glad you like it. I like big boats and I can not lie.. Glad I could bring back some memories Chuck. Good ones I hope. The color is a bit darker in natural light. I'm going to try and get some outdoor pics. -
This is a Johan friction promo. The paint is Chrysler Forrest Green and Frost Green on the top by Scale Finishes. The tires are Modelhaus Tires. BMF everywhere. Wipers, side mirrors and door handles are from a 68 Charger. On the interior I removed and separated the front seats and added an armrest in the folded down position. Charger rearview mirror, scratch built sun visors, headliner and rear seat reading lights. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Hi Barry. Thanks for chiming in. Your car was the inspiration for this build. This is a project I really need to get back to. Thanks!
