  1. As Dpate said, a piece of glass is best if using a blade to cut the piece. I put the photo etch on the sticky side of a piece of tape so the cut piece doesn't go flying, never to be seen again.
  2. I love your diorama builds. Always so realistic.
  3. From what I understand, that's why everyone is driving pickups and SUVs. Apparently the profit margin is greater on those types of vehicles than on cars so they just stopped making regular cars and convinced us that we all want and need SUVs and trucks.
  4. You're right Steve. The engine bay is going to take some work. Thanks for the Monte and El Camino but I'm curious as to what parts you would use from the El Camino.
  5. I can't find anywhere that has Model Master in stock. Scalefinishes seems to have the right color.
  6. Good looking GP. What color did you use on the engine? I'm considering a mix of light blue and silver.
  7. Thanks Steve. I figured GM engines of the era would be similar but apparently not I found an engine from the Revell '70 Firebird on ebay so hopefully that will be a good starting point.
  8. Dave, I thought about that. I would still need to source the valve covers and oil pan. I have an engine from a '69 Olds 442. I'll take a look at it and see if it can pass. I'd still need a Pontiac air cleaner though.
  9. Hey Patrick. There were no extra parts with this one. Fortunately it's more of a glue firecracker than a glue bomb. I was able to separate a few parts, including the hood, with a mini screwdriver. No paint so no striping needed.
  10. Thanks Larry. I sent an email to Fireball to order a set of the 14" and 15" Rallys. I'm watching a couple of '68 Firebirds on ebay. There doesn't seem to be a lot of them out there and can be a bit pricey.
  11. Well you can't beat the price. They look good. What size are the Manhattans and what tire will you use? I don't have or know anyone who has a 3D printer so I'm subject to the vendors and JaysResin is one of the best.
  12. I recently got a hold of a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ. It looks to be the MPC kit. The engine the model came with is not very detailed and is missing the air cleaner, valve covers and oil pan. The exhaust manifolds look like they were glued on backwards. I'd like to find a nice looking 455 V8 engine for this build. Does anyone know what kit would have the best representation of that engine? Or, is there a good aftermarket resin or 3D out there? I'd also like to replace the stock hubcaps with a nice set of 15" Pontiac Rally 2 wheels. Thanks
  13. Really nice build.
  14. Probably not. I have nothing against e cars but I am protesting the fact that they named it Mustang. With all the names from previous years Ford could have used and let the Mustang be a Mustang. Comet, Fairlane, Granada, Torino, Pinto. Well maybe not Pinto but you get what I'm saying. But it would be nice to have more modern cars kitted in an effort to invite new people into the hobby. Why they continue to reproduce these oooolllddd kits is beyond me and I'm in my 50's.
  15. Yeah, I let the PB account go a long time ago but fortunately I have everything on an external hard drive. I recently picked up another snap Tahoe kit so there may be another 2 door coming. Here are some pics. Several years ago I converted a Tahoe into a Suburban. I was never really happy with end result so at some point I'll revisit it. Thanks for looking!
  16. Very nice. I have this kit in the stash and haven't built it yet because I'm debating whether to go stock or hotrod. I was leaning towards stock until now. Looks good.
  17. Received my shipping confirmation today. ETA is 9/12. 13 days from order to delivery is not bad. I wonder if they make the tires when they receive an order or do they have them in stock. In any case if you're looking for quality old school tires check them out.
  18. Hold everything! My apologies to Modelhaus. I just sifted through my emails again and there was my order confirmation. I'm not sure how I missed it the last 2 times I looked for it. What an idiot ?. I've ordered from Modelhaus before with no issues so I was concerned when I thought I hadn't received a confirmation. My bad. Modelhaus is great. Now I'll order those wheel backs I need. Thanks Mike and Bernard. Sorry for wasting your time.
  19. Does anyone know how to contact Modelhaus Tires? On August 30 or so I ordered 3 sets of tires. I haven't received any communications saying they've received my order, shipping info or anything. 20. Really nice!
