  1. Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was quite disappointed when I originally started this build, as the paint job just went haywire, but I’m pleased with the way it worked out in the long run. Originally this was going to be metallic blue, radical departure I’d say, haha.
  2. Lol, keep at it, you’re making good progress! As a reward for cleaning , you get to mess it up again?
  3. That looks terrific, well done. Makes me want to build mine.
  4. That looks like something I need to have!
  5. ya, these will be on the must have list...........
  6. Where is the model? incredible realism , you have really captured the look of a real rig, extremely well done!
  7. Well, the boys had built themselves a race car. Once the car was built, they needed a way to haul it and all the race related tools/parts and what not to the track, but needed something cheap ( blew the budget on the race car) After some networking, they found an old ford race rig, problem was, the cab got crushed by a tree years ago. Well, they set off to go look at it. The hauler body was in good shape, but the cab and hood were toast, but a deal was struck, and they dragged it home. After some junk yard searching and internet surfing they found a cab on a dump truck in decent shape, but missing a door. Craigslist turned up a good door, and a local town auction provided the hood. The boys got it running and patched back together , it’s ready to roll again......
  8. I think that’ll buff out.... super cool build, you really nailed the look.
  9. That turned out great, great build!
  10. This sounds like a cool project, going to be fun to watch.
  11. Next pics will be under glass ( provided the sun comes out)
  12. Great looking build, engine detail is terrific! If the sun ever comes out, that deserves some in the sun pictures to bring the color out. great job!
  13. Ratio of built to unbuilt, interesting thought. I have 83 built and roughly 800 unbuilt, in my mind, I’m doing pretty good? like a lot of you guys, I have bought a lot of kits from my youth that eventually I want to recreate, I can remember the colors I used on them, and can now build them much better. I also have a lot of big rigs and trailers, lusted after them as a kid, but they were twice the cost of a car kit, so I never bought/built any, so now as an adult , I’ve bought all the rig kits I always wanted. And like many of you, just looking at the box art zooms me right back to when I built the kit as a kid, right down to the strong enamel paint smell and the not on purpose tube glue high......, lol.
  14. Have a few myself, and a half a charger......kinda
  15. I suppose my thought is ‘better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it’
  16. Crummy pics, but here is most of it....
  17. You’ll need to extend the frame a bit out back to accommodate the log trailer.
  18. That sir, does not qualify as a mess. As penance, you must start 3 more kits, and do them on top of what’s already on the bench?
  19. Gotta build the mirrors, after that, calling it done.....
  20. Cool! Nothing like starting from scratch AND having some space to operate in, can’t wait to see it come together.
  21. Should be a cool pair, will be watching this build.
  22. Slow progress, got tanks mounted, windshield gasket painted and some work on the hood.
