Gasser frame for AMT 57 chevy
MeatMan replied to willys07's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know about a different front end, but I've been researching gasser suspension setups and there are a lot of 1:1 tri-five gasser stories out there. I don't really think they change the frame rails though. Why do you feel the need to do that? -
Thanks Steve. Got the rear end today from BNL, and its huge! Just what I wanted so the duallys won't look goofy from the back.

I got a chance to get a little bench time in between my wife and daughter taking me out separately to celebrate my 60th. So I managed to section and chop (a little) the F-100. It was fun and very challenging. Now I have to do a lot of finishing and making the doors fit. I'm planning on suicide doors, as I decided to remove the vent window frames since I broke them anyway.

That's hot!! Nice work!

Thank You Revell

Copy that! Last year Revell sent me the glass for my Ferrari even though I told them it was my bad, and it was discontinued. No charge! -

I've got an AMT Cobra 289 unbuilt. I can make some measurements if you need me to. I may even be open to trading it.

Don't know what the old ones looked like but here is what comes now. Tires are okay, not impressive. It comes with four wide and four narrow. I haven't taken the parts out of the plastic except for the tires and decals and really don't want to open it yet, as I don't plan to build it this year.

I agree with everyone else! Nice clean build, very well done. I bought the kit two weeks ago at a closing hobby shop at a discount. Glad to see it can turn out so well!

Cannonball Run 2016 "The Aussieball" Official Build Thread
MeatMan replied to TFchronos's topic in Community Builds
Very nice, detailed work Misha! Thanks for the info on the route. I think stealth is still an issue overall because if you get pulled over on any other section of the route in the real world they could pull you off the road, or detain you long enough to make any lead quickly disappear! To me, balance is key, which you appear to have! -
They have a Facebook site, but the owner retired. Supposedly someone was buying the business but I don't see any updates since April when that happened. There are some 3D modelers on Shapeways that have some but they would require plating or painting and buffing.

Chopped/sectioned 39 Ford(update:primer mock up!))
MeatMan replied to Ferbz's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very nice work!! Those are some great suggestions/observations as well. For the gravel guards, Jeff is spot on. You might want to look at aluminum pie plates, etc for thin and flexible aluminum sheet. They can be polished to a shine. -
Here's my inspiration for my build, and a mock up. I'll be sectioning the body and a slight chop to the top. Neither of which I've done before. I plan on sticking with the Hemi but want to add some induction assistance through a blower or turbos.
