  1. That's an idea, but now I'm recommitted.
  2. So I decided to work on my Bimmer rat rod and got a little too aggressive on the cutting, so its now, lets say unsuitable. My updated entry will be a 56 F-100 that was a post apoc fun build but my wife's nephews thought it should be played with and not sitting on a shelf. We all know what came next. Not sure about wheels or whether I'll go with or without a front end but I'm excited about the ideas swirling around in my gray matter.
  3. Very nice work Matt. Excellent detail! Hey I just fabricated a McCullough/Paxton blower for my 56. Did yours come with the kit?
  4. Like they say Chris, the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. I'm no expert, but it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. For most smaller parts, using like semi-gloss black you can use Krylon. Me I've found True Value paint to be equal to Krylon. Their satin black is sweet, and I've used it on bodies. For Testors, and Tamiya I buy at Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon but you can only apply it to one item per trip. So if they aren't close you have to factor in gas. I buy some at Michaels but the one in my area neglects their paint rack so I'm limited in the colors I can get there. I use the coupon there too. You will get a lot of ideas on your question, but these are my short and sweets.
  5. I have the kit built and took a look and did some quick research. It has two Holley 4160 650 cfm carbs. Calnaga Castings has a 650 if you want to take a look at it and see if it matches your needs, but they have the vacuum secondaries so they don't exactly match. http://www.thecarsource.com/fords/engines/427engine.shtml
  6. Can't wait to see it Rob!!
  7. Very sweet. I love the 6 cyl. engine!
  8. It looks like the hard work was well worth it. Very nice!!
  9. You did it justice. Very nice.
  10. K, so I failed the spelling test!
  11. Wow, I almost missed this post. Nice job Jeff! I absolutely love it.
  12. Fantastic work Jay! It looks like the real deal. I love the whole dio.
  13. Impressive Tom. I love how it sits.
  14. Oh that's so nice! Top notch!
  15. Great metalwork Luis!! I've never seen that kit before but I like it.
  16. Classic RR. Great work Steve!
  17. Ardun heads, sweet!!
  18. I've yet to build a chassis but I have a project that needs it (I think I'm scared to pull the trigger). So I've looked at quite a few YouTube vids on it so that's a good way to go I think The candle method is popular on them for heating the styrene. I also suggest searching the various forums. There are a few tutorials out there that go into detail that I've bookmarked for myself. Good luck Justin.
  19. I have never had a problem with resin casters not sending product on time because I only buy from casters who have a history of good comments on the forums. I had one body that didn't show but the caster sent a replacement within days, and I still had it within 3 weeks (thanks Altered States). Altered States, VCG, Calnaga, Competition Resins, M.A.D.
  20. Diggin' this one! Thanks for posting the wheelie bar sequence.
  21. Oh that's just downright viscous!!
  22. Great tank and bracket work!!
  23. I've got Norton 360 and it checks internet sites and shows a "This page is safe" when I checked it out. Usually if I go to an unsafe site Norton will block it. Now I don't know what other junk like ads they may throw at you though.
  24. I've got mine too! I hope to finish this some time this year for my 1956 builds (my birth year!). The wheels looked out of proportion and I haven't figured out replacements. Any ideas?
