Things I Want don't exist
MeatMan replied to raildogg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know if its what you're looking for but B-N-L Resins has resin tractor tires, and some other tires you might like Hey, and they also have rim/tire sets http://www.b-n-lresins.com/shoppingopencart/Aftermarket-resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale-hobby-model-tires-tracks/Aftermarket-resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale-model-resin-tractor-tires-short . -
Thanks guys. Those with this kit might notice that the windshield washer bottle doesn't look like theirs. That's because the parts gremlin stole the original and I had to fab one from a styrene block! I think I painted the original on a piece of tape and then threw it out when I cleaned up my work area. One day I'm going to build me a workshop. Right now I share a dark corner of the basement with household goods.

Nice!!

Very nice "back in the day" dio.

I've always loved that kit. I'm trying to hold off until I get some builds done but you're making it difficult!! The only thing I would advise is using semi-gloss black for the chassis instead of gloss. Unless of course that's the look you were going for. If that's the case, then have at it!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Dan, I got the dog dishes from the 68 Charger kit. It won't be needing them. Fireball Modelworks has it in resin. John, who needs a stinkin' radio when you have 440 cubic inches of Mopar to listen too?!!

Top notch work!

Sweet! That interior detail is mean.

Wow! Very nice work. You guys have me eyeing my Elvis build now! Got all the parts and this gives me the incentive.

Great colors, great engine, nice detail!!

How many builds do you work on at a time?
MeatMan replied to MrBuick's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm with the multi-build group. I get bored with one. Also, if I run into a problem that befuddles me I need to have another to keep my interest up while I think through the problem. I do keep it to no more than 3 because I don't have a dedicated shop so I worry about losing or braking things. In the end, to each his/her own. That's what keeps the hobby going! -
On my first build....help please
MeatMan replied to Eloveless's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Wow Eric, that's a lot in one post. I can answer a few. I prime all major parts and most everything else. i only hand paint when I have to. Some interior parts, chassis parts I can't spray. Smaller parts. I've yet to buy an airbrush but its on the radar. I've been back in modeling for about two years. It's really your call. Mine is budgetary constraints. Can't help you on the enamel/acrylic issue. I use both. There's lots of info on the two, so I suggest Google. Yes, paint runs when you are too close or spraying it on too heavy. There are tutorials on the site. You should peruse them. I still find new tips after two years. I have a shelf I keep my models on but its getting full. They do get dusty up there so I might have to break out the air. That's a personal choice as well. I just disassembled one build. Use glue sparingly. Buy a box of toothpicks and apply your glue with them. NEVER apply glue directly from the tube. I've not had a problem getting glue on myself. I reiterate; Go through the tutorials! Oh, and have fun!!! -

Wow, I'm a Chevy guy and I wondered why my last build was a Dodge, and I'm working on a 300 now. I also have a Charger lined up for later in the year. I don't know - in the end I just love cars of all kinds. -

Would make for an interesting build. I just bought the Foose edition this past weekend and I'm trying to figure out now what I plan to do with it. Definitely won't be stock out of the box. -
Okay, pick me off the floor Douglas! Sweet!!

Very nice build. The paint is excellent. The dio is nice as well. My wife was as impressed as I am.
