  1. I missed that part, but it is available to the public. It did not say that it had to be a factory option. It says should be production based, but not that it had to be. Racing is stretching the rules to their max! http://racecast.com.au/v12ls/
  2. IMO if you're going for the near stock look, the Camaro engine would be equally low key but stout. Btw, I think the only criteria is that it fits in the engine bay. ?
  3. Hey gang, I haven't updated in a while so here's a quick one. I finished my engine yesterday. I was a victim of my desire to add upgrades to the fine engine kit I bought but I think it was worth it. The engine kit is a basic Vega Cosworth engine with the standard FI with all of the emissions gear of the time. I wanted to add a turbo, air cond compressor, and power steering. I changed the intake to individual throttle body, and fabricated a new plenum. The first pic below is a pic of the instruction sheet with the kit layout. I misplaced my original front cover so I had to use the instructions. The next pic is the 3D model of the one I created using a front cover I designed in CAD, and the pieces I added from files I bought from 3D Model Specialties. I used Meshmixer to blend them all together. The last few pics are the completed engine attached to a Tremec 6 speed that I forget where I got it from. The bellhousing is cut from the engine kit tranny. I'm nearly done with the chassis so hopefully I'll have some pics soon. The body has one stubborn area that I can't seen to get smooth. I primed it again yesterday and the ghost seems to still be there but less prominent.

  5. I have a smaller printer but I print exclusively parts, but I'm the minority. Most folks like to print bodies and tho I've printed one in two parts and put it together, I wouldn't want to make it a habit. If you want to do bodies, save a bit more and get the larger bed. If you want to print parts with the occasional body, you can get the smaller printer and have the body printed by Cloudcraft or someone else. I did that for one body and I'm good with that. Enjoy the ride!
  6. Beautiful!
  7. Good stuff! I understand what you mean about the other distractions in our life. Glad to see the update.
  8. My wife & I split our discretionary funds ($ after bills & savings) and do whatever we want with it, so she never has an issue with my hobby. I just have to make sure it stays confined to the workshop, and that includes smells. I too promised not to buy more kits, and have kept the stash "comparatively" low, but every now & then temptation wins.
  9. Well, I build so slowly that most folks lose interest in mine. I have been tracking a couple of long term builds that I plan to post after I'm done someday because of all the work that's going into them. I personally love to see other's WIPs because it gives me ideas, and ways to improve my skills.
  10. Duplicolor has a semi-gloss also. I've bought it a couple of times and like it a lot. Its a lacquer but I've used it on some parts w/o primer.

    Beautiful!
  12. Yeah, never saw anyone standing around waiting for their EV to charge, nor a line forming.
  13. Well, I use FF exclusively and have never had this problem. I'd say its a config issue, tho I don't know what could cause it. I too frequently use new window but only because I just prefer it.
  14. I recommend first checking with others to see if they are having the same prob. It could be that YT has added some feature to identify "presence" of a user. It takes a lot of bandwidth to send video. Also, speaking of bandwidth check your wifi speed. There could be issues with allocation. Since I've got the Firestick my daughter's complained about cutouts of her web connection. It could also be RAM. Windows is a resource hog and they keep adding stuff at every update that you'll never, or can't use. See what's running sometimes using the task manager and how much RAM is used. If none of those apply to you, by all means seek assistance. You can also use third party apps to run a diagnostic. I have Norton 360 and one comes with the package. Good luck.
  15. Nicely done!
  16. I've got to make some taillights and I'd like to know if any of you know the best transparent red for that, thanks.
  17. Paul just posted on FB that he's doing new molds and doing a lot to ensure the quality of his products, which he said takes time. My old boss used to say I can give you quality or speed, but I can't give you both. I think it applies here.
  18. Nice work but the tires in the front stick out to the point where they would rub on a 1:1. Consider some flares or narrower tires.
  19. Awesome work Martin!
  20. Well done!
